J.Edgar Hoover did not brief George Bush on November 23, 1963 (the day after the assassination of John Kennedy). A letter from Hoover to the U.S. Dept. of State dated November 29, 1963 stated: "George Bush of the Cia" conducted a briefing of FBI personnel in Houston concerning the assassination. Hoover's letter was released many years later as part of an FBI response to a Freedom of Information Act suit. This is only a technicality and I mention it only for clarification. The point is that J. Edgar Hoover did clearly state that George Bush was in the CIA in 1963, There is also considerable reason to conclude that Bush was involved in the CIA's failed operation to invade Cuba and overthrow Castro. It should also be noted that Bush denied any prior connection with the CIA during the Senate Confirmation Hearings on his appointment to Director of the CIA in 1975.
