No problem - but usually dot files are not displayed (with ls) and
this could lead to surprises when you start gdb in those directories.

Is there a problem?  For instance, removing
gdb/testsuite/gdb.base/gdbinit-history/unlimited/.gdbinit would break
that test (if someone were to desire to run it).
