That bit about the 1000 foot limit has been essentially
null since that law was challenged. Congress had the temerity to
reinstate it, but it hasn't been enforced with application by any
fed that I am aware of -- seeing as how it is 'settled law', and will
be moot from the moment it is filed in federal court.
The fed has no authority to enforce its edicts that are
invasive of State's prerogatives.

regardless of whether it is enforced or not.

Dear Gary:
I got this letter Monday, it's about one store, it's in Florida, and the
store is within 1000 feet of an elementary school (possession of a gun
within 1000 feet of a school is a federal no-no).
I called their customer service center, talked to a young woman (Her
name is Georgia) and she pleasantly took my complaint and assured me it
was only this one store.  They were even going to allow catalog
purchases for firearms. The story is crap.
