the Windows %PATH% env. variable isn't updated

Hi,
We use Windows 7 64bit. After the installation of Cygwin 1.7, the
cygwin bin directory (c:\cygwin\bin) is not added to the %PATH%
enviroment variable
Can you please help?

'Gvim' works, but is there any way to hide access violation messages
