Hi,

Thanks for answering.  Basically, I took the startxwin.bat and changed 
to to use mwm (which I understand to be lesstif) after XWin is started.  
Now, I am less concerned about this as I switched to fvwm2 which has an 
icon box that works better.  It is also supposedly lighter than mwm 
although I have not done any speed tests.

Re: gvim, nautilus do not come up, give no error

Hi,

I figured out part of the problem.  I did complete re-install and gvim 
worked (it is with standard distribution).  nautilus is with cygwin 
ports.  When I install that (even using keep), gvim and nautilus do not 
work.  So, now, I'm trying to use KDE's konqueror instead although it 
dies when I try to access file system.  Although, I am using it from fvwm.

gvim, nautilus do not come up, give no error

Hi,

I've tried using different window managers no window manager 
(startxwin.sh), fvwm2, mwm, but when I run gvim and nautilus, I don't 
get anything.


I go to a xterm in the root.
xhost +
access control disabled, clients can connect from any host
$ gvim -V

I did re-install of gnome to make sure nothing was wrong.  Long ago, I 
had installed an earlier version of GNOME from sourceforge.net site.  
This time,
I used the one on cygwin site.  So, I don't know if there is something 
left over causing problems.

Cannot get icon box with lesstif

Hi,

I'm trying to get the icon box to appear with lesstif.  I've tried the 
following putting it in ~/.Xdefaults as well as a file and using
xrdb -override ~/.Xdefaults.  I have restarted the window manager.  
Anyway, the lines that I have tried :

Mwm*UseIconBox: True
Mwm*UseIconBox*useIconBox: True

Other settings that I have put into the files (e.g. for hpterm) do work, 
so I know that I'm using the right file(s).  I have latest cygwin and

Windows XP Professional.
