Re: KSH Mode in CYGWIN & CPU-Usage

2005-11-05 Thread S.Sunil Kumar
Hi Igor,

Before I had only DOS-Window for CYGWIN.
Now I have XTERM also.

But XTERM only works If I START the X-SERVER.

Whether it is DOS/XTERM Mode CPU Goes up more that
90%.

Its scary...

If possible can you tell me about in which Lcation I
should run "cygcheck -svr" script and what will will
be the format of the command ?

Regards

Sunil

RE:Cygwin setup doesn't resume failed downloads

2005-11-05 Thread S.Sunil Kumar
Hi use this FTP Site.It is better.

ftp://ftp.uni-erlangen.de

First try to run the setup and select INSTALL for the
packages you want. And sometime you may get DOWNLOAD
COMPLETE within some minutes.

Try again the same FTP Site...which will update the
package you have dwonloaded first.By checking the size
you can realise this.

Try again and again...you will get the full pakage
...I have downloaded somewhere arnd 600 MB.

Really I dont know even what are the things I have
downloaded.

Somebody informed in the list sayiong that full
package will be arnd 2GB.I am not sure whether it is
intsllation package or after installation.

Sunil Kumar.S

As you guys instructed I will run the SETUP Program
and Uninstall all packages and delete the CYGWIN

Then I will install a full package which is presently
being downloaded from ftp.uni-erlangen.de.

Thanks for your great helps.

I hope that I will get similar helps when I return for
other issues.

I will update you all by tomorrow about the
improvements.

RE:CYGWIN Installation-VIM ( CYGWIN Reinstallation)

2005-10-28 Thread S.Sunil Kumar
Hi Alexander ,

I got it...I did that before.

But now I have realised from your word that I have to
choose the packeges propoerly while downloading.

Which I have missed earlier.I didnt selected properly.

Now I am downloading a Packege and selected INSTALL
for all Packages (not sources) Only the packege.

Oknow If I want to install this new package of
CYGWIN..Is there is any need of Uninstalling the
previous (small one).

And how can we Uninstall (Even if there is no
need-Just for idea) ?

Sunil

KSH Mode in CYGWIN & CPU-Usage

2005-10-28 Thread S.Sunil Kumar
Hi ...,

If I enter KSH for KORN-Shell mode , CYGWIN is not
responding.

And when I start CYGWIN the CPU-Usage rises up to 60
to 70 % easily.

Is it due to some wrong package installation ?

Sunil

CYGWIN Installation-VIM

Hi,

I have checked the following links.

http://cygwin.com/faq/faq.setup.html#faq.setup.what-packages
http://cygwin.com/packages/
http://cygwin.com/packages/vim/

I can see the file lists only and not the EXE File.
If possible I would like to know where I can get the
packge and how to install it in XP Platform.

Sunil
