Updated: qpdf-11.6.3-1

2023-11-26 Thread Marco Atzeri via Cygwin-announce

Versions 11.6.3-1 of

  qpdf
  libqpdf29
  libqpdf-devel

are available in the Cygwin distribution:

CHANGES
Latest upstream release

DESCRIPTION
QPDF is a command-line program that does structural, content-preserving
transformations on PDF files. It also provides many useful capabilities
to developers of PDF-producing software or for people who just want to
look at the innards of a PDF file to learn more about how they work.

QPDF is capable of creating linearized (also known as web-optimized)
files and encrypted files. QPDF also supports a special mode designed
to allow you to edit the content of PDF files in a text editor.

QPDF includes support for merging and splitting PDFs through the
ability to copy objects from one PDF file into another and to manipulate
the list of pages in a PDF file. The QPDF library also makes it possible
for you to create PDF files from scratch.

Updated: hdf4-4.2.16.2-1

2023-11-26 Thread Marco Atzeri via Cygwin-announce

Version 4.2.16.2-1 of

  hdf4
  libhdf4-devel
  libhdf4_0

for cygwin have been uploaded.

CHANGES
This is a last upstream release of 4.2.x series

DESCRIPTION
HDF4® is a library and multi-object file format for storing and
managing data between machines. HDF4 is a very different technology
than HDF5.
The HDF Group recommends that, other than for working with existing
HDF4 data, new applications use HDF5 since HDF5 addresses important
deficiencies of HDF4.
NASA maintains a network of Earth Observing Satellites that transmit
huge volumes of new imagery data daily in HDF4. As a result, HDF4
is used extensively in the Earth Sciences.
