PKG_CONTENTS[] is deprecated.  Instead, do:

mpclib_CONTENTS='usr/share'
libmpc3_CONTENTS='usr/bin/cygmpc-3.dll'
libmpc_devel_CONTENTS='usr/include/ usr/lib/'

Same story for docinto/dodoc.

with gcc47, how do I tell cygport to link against the new libraries
without installing them on my system first (since that will make the
installed gcc unuseable)?

This was a mistake then; please don't propagate it any further.
libmpc1 should be left as is, and will be able to be removed from the
distro once all cross-GCCs are updated.

- latest upstream version
- provide libmpc1 for compatibility with existing packages (the old
  package pinned the library version to -1 even though the API version
  was -3), the actual library content is identical
- linked against libmpfr4 / libgmp3


Please wait for RFU, upon acceptance I'll repackage with new binutils
and update mainainer information in the Cygwin README file.
