I thought it probably was.

The 'Show Cursor' menu item on the taskbar X is a cludge/bodge to fix this
without restarting the server.

Now I feel a fool. I'd never noticed that option.

Removal of all the winSetCursor and software cursor code fixed the problem
permanently for me.
Assuming you can only use the Hardware Cursor!

You mean you recompiled it with options removed?

Thanks,
Cliff.

Yes..with rather a large patch to strip all software cursor stuff out of the
xwin code.

Now I think this fixes I will try a 'divide and rule' to get to the root
cause.
Can supply patches, if anyone fancies having a go too?

Colin

Re: Auto hidden taskbar stays hidden

Hi list,

I use an auto hiding taskbar. If an application, e.g. xterm or a native
windows application is maximized, the task bar does not appear if the
mouse pointer is moved to the border of the desktop. If no window is
maximized, it works as expected. Is this a bug or my fault? :-)

Could be a bug, since it doesn't react this way on Linux with Gnome and
a maximized xterm. Haven't had a chance to try it on Cygwin-X myself
though...
