xwin.exe 1.11.4-1 segmentation fault on startup (-wgl -multiwindow)

2012-01-31 Thread Christian Tuma

Hello,

when I invoke xwin.exe for hardware accelerated OpenGL (AIGLX)

$ xwin -wgl -multiwindow

a segmentation fault occurs. This happens with the latest version (1.11.4-1),
but I already had the same problem with my first installation of the X server
(1.11.3-1).

Attached please find cygcheck.out (sensitive data deleted) and XWin.0.log for
further details.

Somebody with an idea what is going wrong here? Thank you.

Thanks for reporting this issue.

I've uploaded a 1.11.4-2 which should contain a fix.

When it reaches the mirrors, perhaps you could try it and see if it fixes
things for you?

You don't appear to be using a graphics card driver with OpenGL acceleration
though, I'd be interested to which one?

There's probably more detail about why it thinks another X server is already
running in /var/log/xwin/XWin.0.log, which is why we ask people to attach it
to their problem reports in the page linked above.

These packages contain XWin and the other X.Org X11 servers.

The following cygwin-specific changes have been made since 1.11.4-1:

* Fix a crash in -wgl mode when the WGL_ARB_extensions_string extension is not
supported e.g with the 'GDI Generic' GL renderer

Re: [ANNOUNCEMENT] Updated: xorg-server-1.11.4-2

2012-01-31 Thread Angelo Graziosi

I notice a problem moving the mouse pointer.

Usually I start XWin with a link on the desktop whose target is

  C:\cygwin-2\bin\run.exe bash -l -c 'rm -rf /tmp/.X11-unix; XWin
-multiwindow -clipboard -silent-dup-error 2/dev/null '

it produces the XWin.0.log-with_wgl attached via the tar-ball.

Both with xorg-server-1.11.4-1 and xorg-server-1.11.4-2, the mouse
pointer moves in slow motion, in steps, with a delay.. one has
difficulty to move finely...

If I switch-off wgl,

  C:\cygwin-2\bin\run.exe bash -l -c 'rm -rf /tmp/.X11-unix; XWin
-multiwindow -nowgl -clipboard -silent-dup-error 2/dev/null '

it moves just fine! I have attached XWin.0.log-nowgl for this case and
the check.out (all in the tar-ball).

Ciao,
Angelo.
