Re: X11 forwarding and KDE applications
On 15/07/2013 16:39, Brad Keifenheim wrote: I would like to forward KDE applications using Cygwin/X in multiwindow mode. I am able to start and use the applications, but the graphical appearance seems a bit off. Specifically, starting konsole or kdevelop shows some pink coloration behind the scrollbars. I have tried other X servers, such as that provided by Ubuntu, and the problem is not present, so I believe it to be specific to the Cygwin/X server. Does anyone else see this issue, or have I misconfigured my server? This is pretty strange. Assuming this isn't a bug ([1] looks a bit old to be relevant), I can only suggest that this may be an issue with colour correction if you have that enabled for KDE. It would help in trying to reproduce this problem to know the specific version of Ubuntu that your remote X clients are from. Re: Strange interaction between Cygwin/X and Mozilla Firefox Bookmarks
On 21/07/2013 11:57, Falk Tannhäuser wrote: I'm using Cygwin/X 1.14.2 and Mozilla Firefox 22.0. When I click on a Firefox bookmark (in the bookmark window that opens when pressing Ctrl-B) while some Cygwin/X window is active in the foreground, Firefox freezes for several seconds. During this time, in the Cygwin logfile there appear several messages winClipboardWindowProc - timed out waiting for WIN_XEVENTS_NOTIFY. I already noticed this problem with previous versions of both Cygwin/X and Firefox, and it makes using both in parallel somewhat annoying. I can't reproduce this. I think there must be some other factor at work: the XWin error message relates to a timeout during X - Windows clipboard conversion, but I can't make clicking on a firefox bookmark cause that conversion to happen. There are definitely bugs in this area, so any additional information you can provide would be helpful. -- Jon TURNEY Volunteer Cygwin/X X Server maintainer -- Unsubscribe info: http://cygwin.com/ml/#unsubscribe-simple Problem reports: http://cygwin.com/problems.html Documentation: http://x.cygwin.com/docs/ FAQ: http://x.cygwin.com/docs/faq/
