Re: eclipse 3.0.1 input problem

2005-03-14 Thread Mike Starkie
Hope this helpful. I appreciate the effort. I don't
have eclipse running, just xev:

KeyPress event, serial 24, synthetic NO, window
0xc1,
root 0x3a, subw 0x0, time 802624, (82,443),
root:(1520,676),
state 0x0, keycode 40 (keysym 0x64, d),
same_screen YES,
XLookupString gives 1 bytes: (64) d
XmbLookupString gives 1 bytes: (64) d
XFilterEvent returns: False

KeyRelease event, serial 24, synthetic NO, window

root 0x3a, subw 0x0, time 802714, (82,443),
root:(1520,676),

same_screen YES,
XLookupString gives 1 bytes: (64) d

Re: eclipse 3.0.1 input problem

2005-03-13 Thread Mike Starkie
It works fine from the machine eclipse is running on.
I see both the button events and the key-press events
being logged. Eclipse still does not seem to accept
the button input tho'

There is a some error messages being displayed to the
console when I start up eclipse but I can't seem to
copy it from the console. I can't highlight the text
in the cygwin console using the mouse. X is being
started from my shell script as follows:

#!/usr/bin/sh
DISPLAY=localhost:0.0
export DISPLAY
#ssh -Y 172.31.101.197
cd /usr/X11R6/bin/ startx

how to pipe output to a file ?

i don't know. what is xev?

xev is an X11 event dumper. It prints exactly which
 keypress events
 eclipse would receive.

just start an xterm and type xevENTER inside.

i'm not sure. How do I tell?

are you running eclipse on a remote linux host and
forwarding the output to an xfree/xserver running on
windows?

anyone notice this problem before? I searched

You can enable the quick edit mode in the console

 as well use xterm.
