Hi,

could you please try to use:
start /B XWin -ac -screen
sleep 15 (or set a 'pause' and wait for about 15 Secs, now press any key)
start /B xwinclip.exe

Do you use a novell logon?
If so I?m not sure if it is the problem, but could you try to resolve the
names of both computers?
Try to logon onto your linux and try to resolve the other computer name, and
also the other way (logon on client try to resolve the linux box)

RE: missing telnet, solution

2002-03-23 Thread Palic, Darko

Hello Christopher,

okay it is nice to follow the request of the users, but why isn't a
selectbox available, there something like "basic/minimal, common/typical and
complete" could be selected instead of changing the whole setup? It would
help!

best regards,
Darko

RE: Languages under Cygwin/XFree

2002-03-04 Thread Palic, Darko

Hi,

do not know if other linux distris use the same path, but I changed the
behaviour by replacing the Xmodmap.remote under /etc/X11/. Now all clients
have by default the keymap of Xmodmap.remote.

Darko

RE: XFree without TCP

2002-02-17 Thread Palic, Darko

Hi,

just add your adapter under your system, like an normal NIC.
Go to:
- Settings\control panel\add remove hardware
- add/troubleshoot a device
- add new device
- no, I want to select from list
- network adapters
- microsoft
- microsoft loopback adapter

Maybe you have to assign a address to your loopback nic. Use any address of
192.168.x.x with mask 255.255.255.0 or something similar, but use a private
address!

best regards,
Darko

PS: please mail always to the list, not directly to me!

RE: XFree without TCP

2002-02-13 Thread Palic, Darko

Hi,

try to install the "Microsoft loopback device", which is on every Windows
version available.
You can assign a IP address to your MSloDev and xfree should see now a
network device.

Darko

Hi,

sure just follow the Harolds HowTo and you hava a standalone XFree!
Install your tools, or compile it yourself (under

available)

RE: xwinclip not waiting for x server startup (was xwinclip authorisation)

2002-01-15 Thread Palic, Darko

Hello Herold,

I have no idea how to solve the problem with the xwinclip, but I use
xwinclip with XDMCP since it is available. I´m running on different
machines, and a delay of 10 seconds is too short for some machines!
I´m using a sleep 15 directly after starting XWin in XDMCP. The slowest
machine a TP770X (P3-300) had no more problems after setting the delay to 15
seconds, maybe some slower machines could need a longer delay. A mechanism
would be helpfull, there the xwinclip retries to connect to the XServer
every x seconds in overall time of lets say 30 seconds. But, that seems to
be the problem with the libX11. :-(

Darko
