I believe the included extract in cygwin xfree is gnu tar, so I think:
prompt> cd /usr/X11R6
prompt> tar xvfz Xf100.tgz 

is one correct way..

I tried this and get an error that extract needs more flags. Which flags
should I use to install extra packages?
