Dear Sir/Madam,

I send you this e-mail with all humility and every
seriousness of heart; believing that you will be the
instrument God will use to help me in the present
predicament I am facing as a widow. But I hope and so
believe that you will lift off this burden from my
shoulder.

I am Mrs. Margaret O. Giwa, the wife of the late Chief
Rufus Foluso Giwa, the Chairman/Managing Director of
Unilever Nigeria Plc. (formerly Lever Brothers Nigeria
Limited) until his death on Wednesday, March 26, 2003 along
Lagos-Ibadan-Sagamu Expressway when his car skidded off the
road, somersaulted and landed in a thick bush while
travelling to his home town.

My predicament started with the tradition of
property-grabbing on my late husband's properties by his
family after his death. I and my children were asked to
leave the house by his brothers so that they can absorbed
with his properties a month after my husband's funeral,
relying on tribal traditions because I did not have a male
child for him before his death which they believed would
had be the bread-winner of the family as regards to their
traditional beliefs and custom. This suddenly destitute me
as a widow and scrambled to get help from a church member
who through her humane kindness, gave me and the children
an apartment to lay our heads. My late husband's family do
not even write or ask about the children nor do they want
to help me educate the children so I have to struggle on my
own to pay school fees and meet their other needs.

As the beneficiary next-of-kin to my late husband's
Domiciliary account with the Union Bank of Nigeria Plc, I
was fortunate to leave the house with vital documents
relating to the sum of $9,500,375.48 which was the closing
balance of the money my late husband deposited with the
aforementioned bank before his death. Last week when I
contacted the bank Manager, I was reliably informed that
the money was still very much intact and that I can as well
come for it anytime I feel like. The truth of the matter is
that I cannot make use of this money here due to the forces
surrounding me at the moment as regards my late husband's
family. Please have mercy on me as a widow and help me out
of this predicament. All I want you to do for me is to
provide me with your bank account information so that I can
direct the bank to transfer the money into your account
immediately before any of my late husband brothers or
family member get to know about it. I strongly believe that
the only way I can secure the money for myself and the
children is to transfer the money overseas and subsequently
make travel arrangement to come and meet with you.

I pray that God in His infinite mercy will reward and bless
you abundantly as you take this bold step to assist me in
this regards irrespective of not have met with you neither
have we communicated before. For your assistance, I am
ready to give you 20% of the total sum while 80% will be
for me and the children. For more information on the
controversial exit of my husband, you can get the full

27th, 2003 edition at ThisDay's website:
