[darktable-dev] Show maximum possible export size in light table?

2018-01-10 Thread August Schwerdfeger
There is currently no easy way to determine the dimensions of an image
after processing occurs (i.e., the maximum size at which an image can be
exported without upscaling). I either have to do the actual export at
maximum size, or go into darkroom mode, open up the crop module, and try to
hold the pointer as steady as I can while reading the dimensions off of the
center of the crop box.

Would it be feasible to have a light table module showing an image's
maximum possible export size?

By the way, this is DT 2.4.0 on Manjaro.

Re: [darktable-dev] Fwd: DT crashes during startup (Windows)

2018-01-10 Thread M. Maisch
Hey Tobias,

thank you for the analysis, this exactly seemed to be the problem. With
your given solution at least I managed to start DT up. What might cause the
problem: The system setup might not be that common, since it uses a
professional Quadro graphics card by Nvidia (Quadro M5000M).

Is there any other details (i.e. Nvidia System Information "printout") I
can share with you or is there any further interest at all in this issue?

For me, I'm fine at the moment - as far as it is (hopefully) the only
problem that DT and I have.

Thank you for your assistance, I appreciate it very much!

Michael

The crash is in the OpenCL driver of your video card. It's hard to tell what
exactly is happening.

You could try adding "--disable-opencl" to the shortcut starting darktable.
That way you won't have GPU acceleration but might get rid of the crash, too.
