Hello All,
I have been struggling to find a relatively simple method of exporting  
large numbers of images with all post processing intact except for  
cropping.
The use case relates to having large numbers (thousands) of family shots  
that should be passed on to relevant family members.
As all the images were shot in raw, and family members have little or no  
knowledge of PP, it is appropriate to pass on jpg images with PP intact,  
which can be done using darktable-cli, however it is reasonable to assume  
that others may want the images to be cropped differently, and cropping  
prior to printing is a relatively simple task for most.
The requirement for uncropped images seriously complicates the task if  
using darktable-cli.
The request is to have a 'crop=0' switch (or similar) for  
darktable-cli...if that is possible, and reasonable.

(I can reinstall 2.4.4 and work without problems, then reinstall 2.6rc1 again with the same

I have the same problem reported by Blandyna in the Darktable-dev forum (i just 
registered so I could not answer directly to the mailing list).

If you start the program directly from a console you do not get any messages, 
but a pop-up shows with the message The application could not start correctly

Hi,

being a Linux user myself and having to work on windows systems the only
comparable tool I am aware of is http://www.dependencywalker.com/. In my
experience it has a lot of false positives. But you could give it a try. My
bet is the C++ redistributables vary between your good and bad machine. If
we knew the compiler and toolset being used for compilation we directly
knew the C++ dependencies.

Good idea, I just did that, copied the whole darktable directory from the 
"good" machine and I get the same error in the "bad" machine. So maybe is a 
matter of dependencies.

I am not a heavy windows user myself. As Pascal suggested, is there a command 
like "ldd" in linux that helps me find missing libraries?
I see also that a patch was added after release, modifying Cmake to add a 
reference to a library for the Thai language (i think)"libthai" in the windows 
installation but I did not think that could be the problem

Hi,

The problem seems to be with the installation itself in some machines. I was 
able to install successfully in another system. In the machine with the problem 
the program really never executes, the error appears in the process of starting 
the program. The same with darktable-cli.exe, it gives the error message and it 
does not even reach the point in which the help string is printed.
Since there was mention in the web that the error may be related to the 
registry I tried reinstalling with the anti-virus software disabled (in case it 
was blocking some system adjustment) to no avail. I inspected also the registry 
but I really could not find a difference (not that I know what to look for).
