[darktable-dev] Filmic (RGB or not) explained

2019-11-30 Thread Aurélien Pierre
Hi,

This is my video on filmic RGB, explaining how it works and how to do it
in real-life cases:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zbPj_TqTF88=youtu.be I hope it
resolves most of the misunderstandings and trial-errors sessions that
always end-up in frustration.

A shorter addendum is on the way to explain specifically to users of
darktable 2.6 what changed between the 2.6 and 3.0.

Cheers,

Aurélien.

Re: [darktable-dev] filmic module is not present

2019-11-30 Thread David Vincent-Jones
The saturation appears to function quite differently. If I open an
existing file that contains the old filmic and try to replace it with
the new version in an up date then the results look quite different.

What does not work ?

It is unfortunate that the new 'filmic rgb' appears to act quite
differently from the original 'filmic' and I have now lost the
ability to re-edit/adjust a large portion of my recent work.

Hello, let me point out that in build 3.0 rc1, the "filmic" module
is not present in the modules list. Using old styles created with
version 2.6 that prevent the use of it, it appears active and
modifies words. The module was present in version 3.0rc0 and
disappeared in the 3.0rc1 version

Re: [darktable-dev] filmic module is not present

2019-11-30 Thread Lorenzo Fontanella
The Filmic RGB module, NLNON seems to work as the old "FILMIC" module, when
the "FILMIC" module is activated via a style that is provided for, (created
with DT 2.6.2), obtainable results with "FILMIC RGB"

Filmic RGB works exactly the same as the old one, the changes are merely
cosmetic.

What does not work ?
