Fwd: Fwd: [darktable-dev] Feature freeze for 3.0

2019-12-02 Thread Bruce Williams
Aurelian,
I've been watching your content as time allows! Love the new interface for
filmic, btw. Great job!
Happy to proof read your documentation, if that was what you are asking.

Cheers,
Bruce Williams.

Hello Isabelle and William and everyone,

is this arrangement still on ? I have started emptying my brain here (in
English) :

Thanks,

Aurélien.

PS : Yes I'm French :-)

Hi all,
If there's an easy way to split the work and to share it, I'd be more
than happy to help - it's more than time I start contributing to the
awesomeness that is Darktable, and I do have a fair amount of experience
writing doc (although English is not my native language, so English
proofreading would be required). Videos explaining what's new and how it
works would be tremendously helpful! (this is mostly how I work when I
write our software documentation these days at work...). I'm assuming
individual module documentation at least can be delegated individually.
@Aurélien - considering your name, I'm assuming you're a native French
speaker - if the work is divided beforehand and it's easier for you, you
could provide info in French to me as well.
Best regards,
Isabelle

I've added a couple of minor grammatical tweaks. Nothing major.

Hi all,
I just opened a PR for the filmic rgb documentation:
https://github.com/darktable-org/darktable/pull/3835
@Aurélien: there's a few questions for you in there (prefixed with IHU in
the comments of the XML) - also, I hope I didn't deform your (great) input
too much :)
@Bruce: review of my french-tinted english more than welcome :)

Cheers!
Isabelle

 Hi,

for last 2.6 version, it took me a full-time week to write the doc for
3 modules, trying to accurately describe how they worked in a vulgarized
way, in my 3rd language. Instead, will it be helpful if I recorded videos
showing what's new and how it works (possibly in a disorganized/non-linear
order), and let you put the information in shape for a documentation ? Not
that I want to give you the bad job, but I might be more useful on the
debugging team, as the release approaches. I'm still happy to do
 proof-reading.

 Cheers,

 Aurélien.

@Bruce: if you're willing to pay for it, there's a *really* nice git
course on pluralsight, it's the best intro to the topic I've found yet:
 https://app.pluralsight.com/library/courses/how-git-works/

I'm excited to see the feature list in the new release, especially the
 Culling mode :-D

Aurélien Pierre,
Videos would be fine by me.
Or draft written versions.
Whatever works.
Happy to liaise with you directly off-list, if need be?
Cheers,
Bruce.
