Can you point me to where I can find that spec file?
The latest I have found thus far was dated 10 Aug 2020.

Try modifying the spec file I submitted yesterday in the Fedora
repositories. It fixed some stuff about building darktable 3.2.1 and
perhaps they can help you in building the darktable master too

I'm building using rpmbuild and an rpm spec file originally from Fedora.
That process doesn't use the build.sh and is done within a 'clean' environment
which creates a build dir as part of the process, so I don't think your advice
applies for this build method.
You will see in a later post that I have managed a successful build by using the
cmake switch...

-DUSE_XMLLINT=On

This has been 'Off' in Fedora's and my spec file for as long as I can remember.
