This is probably unrelated to David's issue, but I have noticed in the
last few Darktable versions (up to 3.2.1) that images as rendered on the
map are mislocated by a /consistent/ amount no matter what map source is
used -- ranging from a few hundred feet when the map is zoomed in as far
as it will go, to about 1,000 miles when fully zoomed out. Has anyone
else noticed this?

maybe it is the "map source" you have chosen.  have you tried others?

I am now using a camera/phone that provides lat/lon image data. Some of 
the images are located with very fine accuracy on the dt mapping layer 
but some are mis-located by a very large distance (a mile or so). Any 
idea what is going on?
