Even after closing and restarting DT it kept the same sort settings for me. I am not sure if anyone else can replicate your problem. Knowing the OS and DT version may help. Good luck. Is there a way to lock the selection ? Rgrds, J.-Luc Hello Terry, Indeed. Focused on describing as accurately as possible, and again forgot to give details about OS and dt.😬 So : dt 4.0 on Ubuntu 20.04. Here are screenshots : Step 1- set sort order Steps 3- to 4- (1: to 3: on the screenshots)... If you confirm it does not behave this way on your system, I will open an issue. Rgrds, J.-Luc OK, so time for a bug report. Rgrds, J.-Luc darktable user mailing list to unsubscribe send a mail to darktable-user+unsubscr...@lists.darktable.org

Patrick, > appears he has, and also appears there is no longer the "zoomable" > feature, in my opinion "A Good Thing". cannot say I ever felt the > need to > use that ?feature?. Just a note, it had been removed in a first iteration while rewriting the lighttable and after discussion some people were using the zoomable lighttable and so it was re-implemented too. Just to emphasis that the fact one do not use a feature does not mean that this feature is not useful. We have a large base of users with many different usage and workflows. And after all what the issue? This feature is mostly hidden (a single icon top center of lighttable) for users and will never bother people not wanting it. So why removing it? It will ease a bit the maintenance of course, but that's not a user issue. Only intrusive features that user's will have to face all the time is to be thought more deeply to see if the "pain" for some people is a global gain for the project or not.
