guess you are using an older version of dt.  current git version and some
previous have provided support for m D850,

  darktable-2.5.0~git309.6fe1d0f2a-201.1

[darktable-user] D850 files

Hi,

The D850 is so new, that many things, including
darktable don't support it fully. For that, I
basically followed

https://www.darktable.org/2012/10/whats-involved-with-adding-support-for-new-cameras/

and think, that it's working now. I've
store all files needed in

http://173.249.20.61/dt

hoping it might help complete darktable's
support for this camera. Although the D7100
is pretty well supported, I wanted to see the
difference, so I did the same for that too. But
it might be that some bits and pieces could
allow to complete that support.
