Is your job tied to 'master' or was it trying to execute on one of the

I looked in:

But there's nothing useful that I can see. Did this happen to anyone
else? Anyone know what could have happened?

Re: [dash-dev] Athena: tests randomly failing to run on build.eclipse.org, with possible solution

2010-01-04 Thread Andrew Overholt

It looks like Miles is still using runtests.sh. Miles, see the top of
that file:

#!/bin/bash
# This file is deprecated and only used by the old build.steps=test
# The new multiplatform way to run tests is with build.steps=testLocal

But I'm confused as to why this didn't find the supposedly-running X server
on display 9:

  highestXPortInUse=$(ps aux | egrep '[Xvnc|Xvfb]\ :' \
| awk '{ print $12 }' | sed s/:// | sort -n | tail -n 1)

Was someone running some other X server on build.eclipse.org?

I committed something better where we use one port higher than the
currently-running highest (Xvnc or Xvfb). If none are running, we start
at 12.

I am in

/opt/public/cbi/build/org.eclipse.dash.common.releng_HEAD/builder/tests

but cvs diff doesn't show my changes. Is this a difference between the
fact that it's a pserver checkout and I'm checked out via ext?

I thought I read that Hudson would automatically pick X ports that were
free. It seems like that's either not working or someone is using Xvnc
without using Hudson. I see that the latter is the case, actually.
Perhaps we should just pick a block of ports and say that they're
reserved for Hudson?

ATM no. We have discussed doing builds on one machine and testing on

A bug so we can remember this would be most welcome :)
