Hi Devdatta,

Thanks for replying. I have posted some links below. They still work but no
idea for how long they will. Would it be possible for datameet to save them
on your maps repo so that they're there in the future and easy to get as
well?

For those who are still looking for Data, have a look at this previous
thread: https://groups.google.com/d/msg/datameet/tYMSW1sbjwg/AzMA2l6zDgAJ

It has some links, as well as data is attached in some of the emails.

delimitation. Is there any place I can get older (pre-delimitation)

Re: [datameet] Transit Map design

2017-03-18 Thread Arun Ganesh
Dhaval, a few transit maps for India that I had made many years back was my
first experiments with making such kind of diagrams:

   Chennai_suburban_rail_and_bus_interconnectivity_map.png

   Ahmedabad_BRTS_Network_Map.png
   - https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/9/9b/
   Chennai_Metropolitan_Area_Transit_Diagram.png

   Chennai_Metropolitan_Area_Transit_-_Night_Bus_Routes_Map.png

Its fairly easy to make a schematic of a railway map, but gets a lot harder
the more interconnections there are, like in a road based system with buses
or autos. To understand the process behind such maps read this
comprehensive documentation

of an independent redesign of the Paris map.

The step is to get your data in place. Maybe you can share what you have
collected so far?

The ideal one will be to capture the route information in GTFS format and
then use transitive.js ( https://github.com/conveyal/transitive.js/ ) to
visualise it.

Best part of transitive is that you can couple it up with leaflet and
create dynamic route maps.

An example is shown here : http://conveyal.com/transitive.js/

There are no fixed timings on this route, of course, since it runs
