Re: [datameet] Road accidents in India

2018-10-11 Thread Naveen Francis
Thanks Vaishnavi.

800 black spots are on NH alone. MORTH releases only numbers, not the
location.
http://morth-roadsafety.nic.in/index1.aspx?lsid=491&lev=2&lid=442&langid=1

Thought of mapping blackspots on NHs.

Thanks

2018-10-11 Thread Vaishnavi Jayakumar (Inclusive India)
Naveen,

There are 350 black spots here in recent Kerala document
,
plus some useful info on identification and prioritisation.

This recent article quotes 400 for Punjab

That doesn't jibe with the March 2018 PIB release
 stating
approximately 800 blackspots for whole of India. Maharashtra alone

has 634!

Delhi 2017
https://delhitrafficpolice.nic.in/wp-content/uploads/2018/10/chapter-6.pdf

UP http://uppwd.gov.in/pdf/BlkSptStatus.pdf

Chandigarh
https://www.researchgate.net/publication/313858691_Accident_Black-Spot_Validation_using_GIS

Private parties

handling O&M could also have.

They are supposed to be fixed and therefore the list will keep changing.
