This question has crossed 3 lists that I'm on in various forms (datetime, pdx.pm,
plug) and probably a few others. Maybe an out of town geek page would be a good idea?
I'd volunteer to do it but I count as out of town now. :)

Things to list:

hotels with connectivity
links to the freenode/personaltelco pages
a map of powells and powells tech. books
the GPS coords of important locations (book stores, hotels, coffee shops, bars..)
links to local movie listings - including the McWorldDomination's pages
the laser light shows at OMSI
anything else that might interest a geek

Sound like a good idea?

Portland, OR. I'm cc this to the Portland Linux Users Group (PLUG) as
they've been the people in the know when I've had questions. I found a
nice little hotel downtown from their referrals.

Are you in town yet? I've instigated a pdx.pm GT either Tues. or Weds. of this week.

Nope. I'll be getting in Saturday night (and probably wiped out until Sunday
morning). I'm open to suggestions of what to do on Sunday, though I won't be
getting a car unless provoked.

I'm just starting to panic that I am not going to be able to survive with just a
P233 notebook with a 56k modem when I am used to a 1.2GHz w/768k DSL. ;~) I've
got a bunch of programming I want to accomplish next week and I don't want to be
hampered by poor connectivity...

Does anyone know if the Marriot's Rooms that Work includes a network connection?

I'm in the same boat - on someone elses dialup. I have a new module to uplad and
kinda stuck without connectivety. Starting to considering driving around to looking
for freenode aps.

I haven't been in one for years but I recall there was a USB/rj45 (yes, USB) interface.

I'm getting in July 5 and not leaving until the 12th (cheaper fares, don't you
know ;). I wonder if it would be worthwhile to try and get a BOF together for

	http://www.lxgmovie.com/

which opens Friday night? Is there a decent movie theatre downtown?

Theres several - but wouldn't you rather be in a theater you can drink in? (and has
brewery and a distillery on site)

This is as far forward as their schedules are posted:
