Hi,

this is because the 'make config' is now obsolete - it concerned the 
old-style dbmail-config program which is no longer used (it is replaced 
by the dbmail.conf file).

I am running RH8 with gcc version 3.2 20020903
the make all command went perfect except for:

user.c: In function `cget_salt':
user.c:698: warning: implicit declaration of function `getpid'

Any help is greatly appreciated

Yes indeed, the config-table is obsolete now. Settings are read from  
/etc/dbmail.conf; the pop and imap daemons can take a specific config  
file using the '-f ' option.

I noticed that in the 1.0 release that the dbmail-config is  
absent.This means that the table config is obsolete and that the  
executables read their configuration directly from the file?
