OK, I found the information on http://debconf10.debconf.org (I was only
looking at the wiki):

Bed sheets, pillow, blanket and towel will be provided.
Pillow case, soap and shampoo will not be provided.

Sorry for the noise -Ralf.

Hi,

sorry if I missed some information, but I was wondering what we should
bring when being housed on campus (Furnald residence hall in my case):

- Towels?
- Bed linen?
- Pillow cases?
- anything else (besides cheese and wine :-) ?

Somebody should put this information on the main DebConf10 website. Or at
least a link to it, as it's a little tricky to find.

[Debconf-discuss] BYO Wireless for dorms?

2010-07-21 Thread David Smith
Was wondering if there was any ban on bringing your own WPA2 secured
wireless access point for your dorm room..
I remember somebody saying to be careful to not put any DHCP services onto
the campus network from the dorms..

Is a wireless access point in bridged mode (router disabled) ok?

[Debconf-discuss] List of attendees?

2010-07-21 Thread Jonathan Wiltshire
Hi,

Is there a public (or protected) list of attendees for DC10, and if so where
can it be found? It would be really nice to know who I should expect/seek
to meet.

If there is one already and I've missed it, sorry for the trouble.

Like under accomodation or something.

It should be fine, overall they are allowed and used often on campus.
During the year they may technically be disallowed in the dorms, but
you should just do it, keep it secure enough and no one should bother
you.

AOL on this question.

While (luckily) I don't own a MacBook Air or similar non-Ethernet
laptop, I regularly use my phone as a VOIP client and it has wifi
connection only. It would be nice to have it connected in the dorm too.

Thanks to everybody is involved in it, for the dorm organization!
Cheers.

Excellent point! In fact this is why I started that best practices page,
because I kept having these 'opportunities' to educate people and I was
sick of writing the same information over and over, so now I have a URL
to point them to :)

Hi,

doesn't gpg default to make signatures which expire on the same day as the key
which is being signed anymore?

I once had a key with an expiration date, which I then extended, but on that
day it was set to expire (first), I lost almost all my signatures...

cheers,
Holger
