[Debconf-discuss] recommend lodging

2006-01-23 Thread Matt Zagrabelny
hello,

i am considering attending debconf6, my work would sponsor me and i am
trying to estimate my lodging expenses. is there a recommended (close in
proximity) place of lodging for debconf6 attendees? put another way, is
there some hotel that most of the debconf attendees will be staying?

also i have found a couple of websites that listed a couple of hotels in
oaxtepec, is there a comprehensive list (of hotels) somewhere?

thanks for the information,

-matt zagrabelny

ps. does anyone know the population of oaxtepec?

disclaimer: i live in minnesota/US and have never been to mexico.

i have read on the groups.google that all north america is 110v / 60Hz.

electricity in rural parts of mexico is more suspect than the cities.

[Debconf-discuss] making hotel reservations at Vacational Center IMSS Oaxtepec

2006-03-30 Thread Matt Zagrabelny
greetings,

i am planning on attending debconf and am needing to book a hotel room.
the travel agency for the university that i work for has been in contact
with Vacational Center IMSS Oaxtepec. it seems that they (the travel
agency) are having a difficult time communicating with V.C. IMSS; that
is, they cannot seem to find anyone who speaks english when they call.

does anyone have any advice regarding this situation?

also, the website:
http://debconf6.debconf.org/about/accommodation.html

talks about two hotels being inside of V.C IMSS, Yautepec and Zacatepec.
do i or the travel agency need to contact the hotels (Yautepec or
Zacatepec) directly?

thanks,

i am not sure if i will be reimbursed if i do not have some sort of

what sort of payments (to the committee) are acceptable?

[Debconf-discuss] bus schedule from airport

2006-04-25 Thread Matt Zagrabelny
from the following debconf page
https://debconf6.debconf.org/comas/attendees/new

Arrival time:
-mm-dd hh:mm. It is important to note the hour at which you will be
arriving to the airport, so people can arrange to meet with you and come
together to Oaxtepec, and we can guess when you will arrive to the
hotel.

does this mean that the local team will try to meet people at the
airport to organize bus rides or anything like that? or is the debconf
organizers going to post a somewhat complete schedule of attendees so we
can see who else will be arriving to the MEX airport at the same time?

oh, it is easily 1.5 meter, perhaps even 2, it has a telescoping
functionality. i arrive to MX on saturday at 16:45, so i should be to
oaxtepec at around 18:30 or 19:00.

The last I saw, there was 100+ people for the KSP, I don't think room

Fine Print Publication Rights

Debconf requires non-exclusive publication rights to papers,

used in conjunction with the presentation. The authors have the
freedom to pick a DFSG-free license for the papers themselves and
retain all copyrights. The presentations will be recorded, and may be

+1.

I'd like to add that restraining oneself from using profanity (either
as a speaker or as an audience member) in a public venue is common
courtesy. Similarly as we choose our words when speaking to strangers.
I might be tempted to use profanity with friends or coworkers, but I'd
be much more careful with people I don't know or have never met.
