[Debconf-discuss] Advice needed regarding VISA application for family
Hello, I have registered myself for DebConf 2015, also I have registered my family, and we were confirmed that there will be a room for us in the youth hostel. Also I have received an invitation letter from DebConf E.V (only to me) to apply for a VISA. My question is, to apply for VISA for my family, do they also need an invitation letter ? Or do they need some confirmation of venue stay ? And in the VISA application of the family should the reference be * DebConf E.V as the inviting organisation/company, or: * the youth hostel as a hotel ? No as they are not attending conference but joining you as a tourist. You will apply for Schengen business visa your family will apply for tourist visa. Cross check with German embassy in your city. As an additional data point, I requested an invitation for my girlfriend, got it, and it was not discarded by the consulate, they even said keep it when travelling, to show at customs if asked.
