Hello,

after your feedback we (Gandi.net) are happy to extend the Member Benefits to
Debian Maintainers!
So both Developers and Maintainers can get our lowest rates.

To do so simply send an OpenPGP signed email that is in the Debian Maintainer
keyring with your Gandi username/handle to non-pro...@gandi.net

https://wiki.debian.org/MemberBenefits#Gandi needs an update ;-)

Thanks!

I don't have a time during Sprint but want to try to implement

Some variables if you want to do a physics equation:
- its hot and humid here in summer, even at night.
- Buildings unfortunately aren't properly insulated (humidity moves in easy).
- Its mostly about humidity not heat. There are colder, cloudy days that have
more humidity.
- There's other factors of course (if the A/C is smart enough and how it does
its cooling cycles)
All those factors aren't "linear".

This is a great summary too:

But most important, do what makes you comfortable... :-)

Yup. I just walked there and it was useful. Quite a trek back carrying
heavy stuff, but I was getting steadily lighter on the way back due to
sweat... :-)

And I was the idiot foreigner in there who spoke no Chinese at all

Note that I was just talking about the conference venue, not the dorms.

During my very short trip here before the conference I observed that
locals turn off ACs when they leave a room for several hours.

Everything about heating and cooling is non-linear except for Charles's
Law. :D

Shock depressurization of the dorms would be effective but (1)
unpleasant for anyone inside, and (2) infeasible to implement. :P

Looks like the weather in Taiwan (high heat, high humidity) is not too
different from that in Raleigh, North Carolina, so I won't pack anything
special.

See everybody soon!

I fully agree not to turn off the airconditioning in the evening. The wall
radiates also infrared heat at higher temperatures than the human body.
You don't see it, but it is there.
While the body wants coolness for a good sleep.
Especially when it is heatwave+humid, one needs to be careful. Then the body
could overheat. Because sweating doesn't help anymore to cool.
With friendly greetings,

Cheese was never an issue.
For personal consumption DRY sausages is ok too now.
Bring some saucisson sec please. I bring wine.
Wine btw is 6 liters of which 5 need to be declared.

  Taiwan Customs Regulations

You can import up to TBD kilograms of cheese per person.

The variable TBD seems to be not initialized. Are we at least sure that
the value is not null?

I have another proposal:

- We put the ACs in all rooms where we have control over the AC
  to 25/26°C.

- If you want to modify this median temperature, please first ask for
agreement in the room. Aim at consensus, not majority decisions. [1]

Hey you all, happy and merry DebConf people!

We are having a good time and doing a ton of work. I have seen several
ongoing sprints, and the technical advance of our project is
warrranted during this conference. That makes me very happy!

But DebConf is not just about hard, cold work. You know, we have
time-tested social rituals that bring us all together as a group, that
create friendship -no, family!- bonds among us all. Repeated successes
leading to...

Ok, I'll cut the blabbering.

You all know I am talking about the Great and Mighty DebConf Cheese
and Wine Party.

We have to organize for a _great_ party. An important part of it is
planning - We want to know what you are bringing, in order to prepare
the labels, in order to know how much $foo we have and how much $bar
we have to put to make it work best.

So, please go to our Wiki page!

https://wiki.debconf.org/wiki/DebConf18/CheeseWineBoF

Fill out what you are bringing. Join the Cheese Team.

VERY important - Did you bring some interesting cheeses? Are you
already in Taiwan? DO YOU NEED A FRIDGE? We have a fridge in the video
room (MIRC, 7th floor, room 705).
