[DayTrip] Bike Tour

2019-07-23 Thread Samuel Henrique
Hello my friends,

Just some information about the biking daytrip:

* We will leave the hotel at 8:30.
* 17 Bikes and helmets are gonna be provided (one available slot).
* We will go to the Botanical Garden of Curitiba[0] in the morning, and
stay there until lunch time.
* For lunch we will come back to the venue.
* After lunch we will go to the Barigui Park[1], where we will spend the
afternoon and will probably get to see some capybaras[2]. This park is big
and there will be lots of places to cycle in there. I totally recommend you
to try "caldo de cana" (sugar cane juice), there will be some people
selling it at the park.
* We need to be at the hotel with the bikes at 18:30, because the rental
company will go there to get them back.

Great initiative! :-) I am happy you took that task this
year. But... I always tried to be extra sober and awake when flashing
laptops :-] I hope you had no ill results!

Now, question: Last year I did this with Raspbian, as our kernel
did not have can't-remember-which-feature enabled. Can we test whether
this runs with the images I'm preparing?

Thanks!

The algorithms of Salsa LA and Bachata Sensual dance workshops tonight

2019-07-23 Thread jathan
Hi everyone,

I invite you tonight at 8:00 pm at the swimming pool of the 13th floor
at the Nacional Inn Hotel, to enjoy two nice Salsa and Bachata workshops
for beginners since cero knowledge. We will learn how to code
our bodies to feel the rhythm and dance on 1 Salsa LA and Bachata
Sensual! At the beginning we will learn a little history of the
different types of Salsa, how to identify the music times, "La Clave"
and how to synchronize each foot per tempo. After this we will do some
basic individual steps, following to this we will dance in couples and
finally from 10:00 pm until 12:00 pm we will have a little dancing party
of Salsa, Bachata, Kizomba and Forró to practice and have fun. Please if
some women would like to volunteer even if you do not how to dance
anything, will be very appreciated. If you have any questions feel free
to ask,

Cheers and see you tonight!

Fight like Marielle Franco - Special T-shirt (GroupPhoto)

2019-07-23 Thread Valessio Brito
Hello everyone,

A few weeks before the conference I decided to make a shirt[1] in
honor of Marielle Franco and in support of human rights activists and
the promotion of diversity.

Who is Marielle Franco?
"Woman, black, mother, lesbian, from the favelas, open about sexuality
and Rio's problems, and on top of all this, a human rights activist."
- That's how Marielle Franco once described herself in an event in Rio
de Janeiro, the city where she was elected a councilwoman. And that's
also why she was killed...[2]

Thanks to everyone who bought the Marielle Franco's t-shirt. (is over now.)

If you feel comfortable, bring your Marielle Franco T-shirt to wear
during Debian GroupPhoto.
Let's keep spreading this message!

PS:
Thanks to Daniel @Lenharo for helping with production and distribution.

Re: Trancing Out with DJ DPL

2019-07-23 Thread Sam Hartman

Come join me and dance at the venu tonight starting at 8 PM just after
dinner.
We'll be in near the restaurant.

I'll start out with a set of tracks taken from Debian (games, demos and
the like).

Then I'll move into a more traditional electronic set playing Trance,
Progressive, a bit of Progressive House and some Techno.

I'm likely to close with some pop tracks, because there are a couple of
things I just have to play.

We don't care how you dance; just come and let the beat control your
body!

I'm Holger Levsen

2
00:00:07,200 --> 00:00:09,700
and since 5 years I've been working on Reproducible Builds

3
00:00:09,800 --> 00:00:15,100
where we aim to create a more secure delivery chain for software productions.

4
00:00:17,400 --> 00:00:20,100
Our aim is, that one can be sure

5
00:00:20,100 --> 00:00:22,400
that the tools built

6
00:00:22,300 --> 00:00:26,300
don't contain any backdoors, that they all do the same.

7
00:00:29,800 --> 00:00:31,500
In the past

8
00:00:31,500 --> 00:00:33,900
'reproducible' or 'reproducible programms' ment

'I built a program twice

10

und I twice get a program which does the same things.'

11
00:00:38,800 --> 00:00:40,900
For us, it means 'bit by bit identical'

12
00:00:40,900 --> 00:00:43,000
as in I build a program twice

13
00:00:43,000 --> 00:00:45,100
and as a result I have twice an identical pile of bits,

14
00:00:45,200 --> 00:00:46,900
which is 100% the same.

15
00:00:51,100 --> 00:00:54,800
I've got two pizzas here, made by machines,

16
00:00:54,800 --> 00:00:56,000
but they are different because

17
00:00:56,000 --> 00:01:01,000
the ingredients, food, simply is organic, thus different.

18
00:01:01,300 --> 00:01:03,100
While these two bags of lego

19
00:01:04,700 --> 00:01:08,200
let you build two times a 100% identical result.

20
00:01:18,000 --> 00:01:20,200
This lego is not fully identical...

21
00:01:20,400 --> 00:01:21,500
the proof has been made

22
00:01:21,500 --> 00:01:23,200
I'm not a machine.

1
00:00:05,600 --> 00:00:07,200
Ich bin Holger Levsen

2
00:00:07,200 --> 00:00:09,700
und seit 5 Jahren arbeite ich an Reproducible Builds,

3
00:00:09,800 --> 00:00:15,100
wo wir die Lieferkette für Software Produktionen sicherer machen wollen.

4
00:00:17,400 --> 00:00:20,100
Das soll dazu dienen, daß mensch dann sicher sein kann,

5
00:00:20,100 --> 00:00:22,400
daß die Werkzeuge, die das baut,

6
00:00:22,300 --> 00:00:26,300
daß da keine Hintertüren eingebaut sind, daß die alle dasselbe machen.

7
00:00:29,800 --> 00:00:31,500
Früher war's so

8
00:00:31,500 --> 00:00:33,900
"reproduzierbar" oder "reproduzierbare Programme" heißt

9
00:00:34,000 --> 00:00:35,400
"ich bau ein Programm (zweimal)

10
00:00:35,500 --> 00:00:38,800
und es kommt zweimal ein Programm raus,
das dieselben Dinge tut."

11
00:00:38,800 --> 00:00:40,900
Bei uns heißt das aber "bit für bit identisch"

12
00:00:40,900 --> 00:00:43,000
also ich baue zweimal ein Programm

13
00:00:43,000 --> 00:00:45,100
und das Ergebnis hat zweimal denselben Bithaufen,

14
00:00:45,200 --> 00:00:46,900
der sieht 100% identisch aus.

15
00:00:51,100 --> 00:00:54,800
Ich hab hier zwei Pizzen, die sind von Maschinen gemacht

16
00:00:54,800 --> 00:00:56,000
aber sie sind unterschiedlich weil

17
00:00:56,000 --> 00:01:01,000
die Zutaten, Lebensmittel, sind einfach organisch, sind unterschiedlich.

18
00:01:01,300 --> 00:01:03,100
Während hier, zwei Legobeutel...

19
00:01:04,700 --> 00:01:08,200
und da lässt sich jetzt einfach zweimal 100% dasselbe raus bauen.

20
00:01:18,000 --> 00:01:20,200
Dieses Lego ist nicht ganz identisch...

21
00:01:20,400 --> 00:01:21,500
der Beweis ist erbracht,

22
00:01:21,500 --> 00:01:23,200
ich bin keine Maschine.

Park Hiking Day trip

2019-07-23 Thread Antonio Terceiro
This is to the participants of the Park Hiking day trip.

I just updated the wiki to note that we will leave little bit later,
10:00 instead of 9:00. The main goal of this change is to be able to
watch the sunset at Tanguá Park which is quite nice, so if we leave too
early we end have wait around there for too long.

So let's get some extra sleep instead. :)

It doesn't seem to work :(
A couple of people gave it a try. Maybe we're missing something very
obvious here?

Or maybe, since I used this kind of phone daily for a while, I failed to
mention stuff that is obvious to me, sorry if that's the case.

I just tested it again and it worked for me, I could call my french number.

00-- -> it rings and I can answer.

If that doesn't work for you, or if you want me to show you, I'll be
happy to check with you.

Cheers,
