Kudos to you - and please keep on telling the world about the Debian Med hackathons and sprints. A part of our success is possible due to your work! Debian Academy Team and Wiki
Hi everybody, Due many of you liked the talk and the initiative, I would like to start the team and an official wiki for Debian Academy. I was wondering whether to create it in the team or community section. Can someone please tell me what would be most suitable? Regards! Hi all, a short reminder for the time finder for a common online meeting: https://dudle.inf.tu-dresden.de/debconf2020vocals/ I'll check again when I get up tomorrow, which is approx 6:00 UTC. Hi All, Come and meet the Publicity team! We are sharing an Ad-hoc session[1] for #DebConf20 at 14:00 on August 29. Florian Haftmann writes: > The agenda would be to check what the technical equipment permits and > maybe, for anybody who wants, to agree on a small »project« to record. Hi! I have fond memories of the Debian Singing SboF in Curitiba! :) Doing something like that remotely is probably not feasible, I'm afraid. What works in my (CoViD limited) experience is distributing a video of a choir director directing an imagined choir and singing a voice along. The singers then record themselves (typically by their phones) singing their parts while watching the director video using headphones. Several seconds of lead in and out are useful, and I imagine that starting the director video by some clapperboard effect which is re-captured on each part helps synchronizing them. I'm willing to give a try to performing the bass part and to persuading my wife (who sometimes uses Debian) to sing alto if needed (that is, unless the Debian Women project steps up for this task in force. :)) -- Feri

Hi all , I'm not good to sing. May be this software can help you in a possible common session. https://www.sagora.org/index-en.html El 28/8/20 a las 08:11, Florian Haftmann escribió: > Hi all, > > thanks for your interest. > > My proposal is to find a time window for a common session where we can > get together in a Jitsi call. > > Possible options: > > https://dudle.inf.tu-dresden.de/debconf2020vocals/ > > The agenda would be to check what the technical equipment permits and > maybe, for anybody who wants, to agree on a small »project« to record. > > Purpose is having fun, not obligations! There was atleast one written and sung at the Poetry and Song night: http://flosslinuxblog.blogspot.com/2020/08/the-debconf20-song.html On Fri, Aug 28, 2020 at 1:50 PM Petter Reinholdtsen wrote: > [Didier 'OdyX' Raboud] > > Tenor here, could be coerced into a non-live recorded DebConf song. > > If you have a DebConf song, I would be happy to add it to my song book, > http://www.hungry.com/~pere/cs-songbook/ >. > > -- > Happy hacking > Petter Reinholdtsen > >

Here's an example how this can be done, despite no two members of the choir/orchestra ever meeting each other at the same time: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cCU0npOKXVo (SpyTube, but 「torify youtube-dl $URL」 stops both ads and tracking.) Re: Singers wanted.
Hi all, thanks for your interest. My proposal is to find a time window for a common session where we can get together in a Jitsi call. Possible options: https://dudle.inf.tu-dresden.de/debconf2020vocals/ The agenda would be to check what the technical equipment permits and maybe, for anybody who wants, to agree on a small »project« to record. Purpose is having fun, not obligations! (I have no idea either where wi will get to ;-)) I will have a look at the incoming votes after 15:30 UTC today. Cheers, Florian
