I'll be on a different continent this evening, so it doesn't affect
me, but if I were there, I'd have one question, and maybe it's
interesting for the actual attendees as well:

Is the Conference Dinner an indoor or an outdoor event?

The reason I (would) ask this question is that I was caught by
surprise last year when I learned by accident on IRC 1.5 hours before
the start that the conference dinner was indoor. At that time I
considered it a very bad idea to put 200 people without masks in a
room during a pandemic, and given the anecdotic evidence of
infections a couple of days later I'm still convinced that my not
attending was a good idea.

Whereever the Conference Dinner takes place this year -- I think the
potential attendees might be happy to learn earlier where it happens
in order to be able to make their informed decisions according to
their personal COVID-19 policies.

Cheers,
gregor

My debconf12 talk still makes some points that resisted the test of time

I have been looking for an excuse to become involved with Debian again,
this might be it.

If time-zones allow it, I'd love to attend remotely such a BoF.

Thanks for the clarification.

The script used to create the list only associates a single "ID" with
each individual, rather than trying to parse out UIDs from each
submitted key. There's no problem with keys with different associated
email addresses (or keys with multiple UIDs on them), the script just
doesn't present all of those.

Re: DebConf 23 Key Signing party final lists

2023-09-07 Thread Abraham Jacob

Hi Jonathan,

Appreciate the effort in compiling all the keys and preparing the PDF..

Just wanted to clarify one doubt. I was of the understanding that one
can add multiple keys  for KSP and I have added 2 keys.. one used for
my  gmail (122a below: used for DC23 registration) other (122b) used for
my official email id. Following are my keys from ksp-dc23.txt.. but both
show the same email ID.

122a [ ] Fingerprint OK        [ ] ID OK
       8135 568E B93B 86F6 A6DA  A562 1EB0 80A0 63C8 14A5
uid    Abraham Jacob

122b [ ] Fingerprint OK        [ ] ID OK
       1143 756C E963 BBD2 4BA7  6280 EB98 70B0 5FCF 3E33
uid    Abraham Jacob

Is it an error or am I not supposed to submit 2 different keys that
belong to different UIDs?

No need to make any changes now since people have already started
computing SHASUM.

Thanks,
Abraham

The DC23 Key Signing Party lists are finalized!

   They can be found at:

   https://people.debian.org/~noodles/ksp-dc23/

You *must* download ksp-dc23.txt from that site, verify your own
fingerprint *and* calculate the SHA256 hash before the introduction
session on Sunday. Bring your own copy of the hash value; we will be
   verifying it together.

I have prepared a rough'n'ready single page PDF (single-sheet.pdf) to
allow for a reduction in the amount of printing necessary for folk to
track who they've talked to + confirmed ID/fingerprints for. It's not
authoritative (in particular it just pulls names from key UIDs which are
not always a full name), but it's provided for your convenience. Make
sure you check the full list when doing any actual signing!
