Playing basketball?

2024-07-22 Thread Samuel Henrique
I know this is unlikely, but figured I should ask anyway.

I assume there are sports courts at the university, including a court for
basketball, is anyone playing it?

Trying to decide if it's a good idea to pack my basketball shoes.

Cheers,

Keysigning party list for DebConf19

2019-07-20 Thread Samuel Henrique
Hello folks,

I just uploaded the list of the keys for the keysigning party, please make
sure your key is correctly described in there (number and fingerprint
especially), then take your SHA256 checksums and come tomorrow at 15:00 to
the mini auditorium[0].

The file can be retrieved here:
https://salsa.debian.org/debconf-team/public/data/dc19/raw/be6d109237ebdad25601879ea21d90a09797313a/ksp/debconf19-ksp.txt

17 keys from the ones registered on the website could not be added to the
list as they weren't available at the time the list was created. Your key
must be reachable through a "gpg --recv-keys" command.

If your key is not on the list, you can still participate in the keysigning
party, it's just a matter of a little bit extra work, come to the talk
tomorrow and you will learn how to do it.

See you!

Keysigning Party at DebConf19 (list available tomorrow morning)

2019-07-19 Thread Samuel Henrique
Hello everyone,

Just a friendly reminder/announcement that the deadline to register the
keys you want to have at the KSP's list is today.

Login to the DebConf website and update your registration with your keys:
https://debconf19.debconf.org/register/step-3

Remember that your key has to be reachable in order for it to count, this
means I must be able to get your keys with:
gpg --recv-keys "FINGERPRINT"

If you are uploading your key just now, please make sure it's available at
least in the "keys.gnupg.net" keyserver:
*gpg --keyserver "keys.gnupg.net <http://keys.gnupg.net>" --send-key
"FINGERPRINT"*

The file for the KSP will be made available after the midnight of today :)

Have a great DebConf!

On this case, because they want to, but the discussion goes more deep
than this, the point I believe is that making this it ends up actually
being equal to a male speaker. But I not the one to discuss that.
My opinion is that a speaker should be able to ask people to just do
questions on the mic if they want to.

Re: Questions after talks at DebConf (idea)

2018-09-08 Thread Samuel Henrique
Sorry, I don't mean "sugesstion" as "we should do this", I believe
this is something that still has to be discussed to see what we agree
upon.

I agree with Steve McIntyre about being important to have good
interaction on the talks, and doing the questions on the mic is good
for that, as long as people are comfortable with.

Re: Questions after talks at DebConf (idea)

2018-09-08 Thread Samuel Henrique
For the speaker side, I saw a really good solution being used at this
year's DC by Audrey Tang[0], I think it is a non-free service, but it
should be something really easy to implement it for ourselves.

My suggestion is as follows:
* anyone can send questions for that specific talk (anonymously or
not) by accessing an url
* other people can upvote/downvote the question as the talk is going
* the speaker has an online dashboard where they can see the most
upvoted questions and answer the ones they would like to (if the
speaker agreed to answer questions after the talk)[1]

Benefits:
* people watching it live can send questions
* can send questions anonymously
* there will be no room for listening difficulties (accents, speaking
too fast, etc.)
* speaker answer the ones they are comfortable with
* questions can be well made as there will be no anxiety of speaking
on mic (for some people)

[0] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oDwfk5jo_ow
[1] it is expected that the speaker read the question before
answering, for accessibility reasons

Re: Keys for the DC18 Key Signing Party - Ready for printing!

2018-07-24 Thread Samuel Henrique
Hello,

> Hello Samuel, Everyone is in transition, arriving and aclimating to
Taiwan. Don't be discouraged by a 3 day delay.

Right, reading again the other email Gunnar sent:

"...please send your
ascii armored public key as explained at [0] no later than 23:59
UTC/GMT/Zulu on Sunday 22 July 2018. I'll start processing keys after
a day or two."
...
"PS- Yes, the dates are quite close, and some will already be
travelling (me included) at the announced deadline. I'm sorry for
that, honest mistake on my side; I will push to send out an
"almost-complete-version" by Friday (20th) so you can verify and
print at home. Of course, that means we will have to read two SHA
sums for two different documents."

Ok, so i believe my key will be on this second file, the "complete version".

2018-07-23 Thread Samuel Henrique
Hello,

I can't seem to find any of my keys at
https://people.debian.org/~gwolf/ksp-dc18/ksp-dc18.txt

I sent the email to gwolf@d.o on 21th July at more or less 16 UTC. I
also had my key registered on the DC form (where it said it would be
used for KSP). And i sent another email on 21th July to confirm that
my keys would be present.

I have no idea what happened, can you help me?
