Umh, would have been a good idea to start this as a BoF to begin with. But... Right now, I'd rather ask you to come over where we are (currently, near the bar at hacklab), you will likely see a lot of flashing. Today, we have successfully flashed two computers and bricked one! https://gwolf.org/files/IMG_20180408_085157.jpg Tiago is currently rebuilding a new coreboot, and we hope it will enable Wolfgang's laptop to come back to life. Failing that, it can at least work as christmas tree lights.

Can you give a link to > which you are using? :) For the X220, we basically followed this guide: https://karlcordes.com/coreboot-x220/ It is a bit more complicated than the X230 because the X220 has only one 8M ROM chip, while the X230 has 1×8M (which we don't touch - it is the Intel management engine and other 3v1l stuff) and 1×4M (which we flash, it is just the BIOS). We flashed Tiago's full ROM with a ME replacement. I can assert his computer is freer than mine :-]

If it does not work, we will back up your original ROM anyway, so you shall not get a brick. Ideally.

During DebCamp, me and a small group of merry campers reflashed our X230 Thinkpads with Coreboot. Thanks go to Holger, for bringing the physical tooling along, and for making me go through the full build process. Given that I have all of the needed bits, I can offer you a quick tour of the prerequisites, and flash it to your machines.
