My experience was (after I asked the driver) that he announces the
stations anyway; just not very loud so it helps to sit in the front
:)

The trip is a bit longish but on the other hand it gives a free tour
through some parts of the "centro".

FWIW, the taxis outside the airport are quite cheap, we were 5 who split
two taxis and paid R$50 per taxi so that turned out R$20 per person,
which is great since it's fast and gets you to the hotel door without
having to put more thought into when you potentially haven't slept in a
long long time.

Hi,

I found that getting off at the right place is another challenge. There's no
stop indicator in the bus.

I took Aeroporto Executivo, bought a round-trip ticket with a help of Google
Translate. There's a manned stand in front of the bus stop. You can use
credit card (contactless ok) to pay. Their round-trip ticket is valid until
July 31.

I used AndOsm on the bus to ensure I didn't miss the stop. Their first stop
(train station) is actually walkable to the venue. The bus detoured to another
hotel nearby. I got off at the last stop (Shopping Estaçáo before heading off
to the airport) but I found the bus took too much time driving around the city
center.

I am at the hotel now!

I don't know why, but in their site, they say is cheaper if you pay with
credit card.

I did a MR to the DC19 website with this:

The cost is R$ 15 (about 4 USD) for one way, paying with money (BRL).
Promotions:
 * R$ 16 round trip, paying with credit card.
 * R$ 10 for one way, paying with credit card.

The obvious question to ask as someone who does not want to have
any cash is: can I pay with credit card (well, debit mastercard)?

I prefer to avoid cash as long as it's not massively more expensive
or inconvenient.

Coach
The cost is R$ 15 (about 4 USD). It is a good idea you say to the
driver you want to get off at the Shopping Estação bus stop. The

To check the bus schedule you have to choose "de: Aeroporto Afonso
pena" "Para: Shopping Estação" in airport executive website.

Indeed, I have seen other Taxi apps country-locked like this - Hailo
used to be this way in Ireland when I moved here - but when the issue is
pointed out to the company involved they will usually open the app to
wider installation, especially when they are told "well, all foreigners
are forced to use Uber", so perhaps some Brazilian friends could contact
the app vendor and point this out so they relax the restriction.

Cheers,

Hi,

Curitiba airport is not big, and it's very easy walk from the arrival
area to take a bus, taxi, 99/uber.

We have some photos here:
https://salsa.debian.org/debconf-team/public/share/debconf19/tree/master/photos/organization/aeroporto

I am updating this page with some informaiton:

- Public bus fare now is R$ 4,50
- Marking "Coach" as the best option.

I recorded a video from the bus stop to hotel:

Remember we have a telegram group if you need some help when arrive here:

Hi,

it's almost just one week and DebCamp will start. Yeah!

Maybe I'm to stupid to find an already published traveling help
guideline how people can reach the venue. Please point me to this if
this is already existing.

Otherwise what are the options to get from the Airport CWB to venue? I
assume every attendee should come to the venue first.
My Portuguese is (still) horrible. :-) Thanks!
