I use orca on wheezy. I want to customise my keyboard shortcuts of orca. For instance, I'd like it to read date and clock with ins+F12 (double) and ins+F12. * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or ineffective)? 1. On Date item in Keyboard shortcuts tab, I do orca+F12 F12, no problem. It displays orca+F12 (double click). Then, on Clock, I do orca+F12, it works too. 2. On Clock, I do orca+F12, ok it displays Orca+F12. Then, I go to Date item, and orca+F12 F12. * What was the outcome of this action? I see displayed F12, and only F12 enables me to get the date said. * What outcome did you expect instead? I expected to see orca+F12 (double) and hear the date pressing orca+f12 f12. Because it's the same customisation method as the number 1, but in the reverted order. *** End of the template - remove these lines *** Thanks, -- System Information: Debian Release: wheezy/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 3.2.0-2-686-pae (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=fr_FR.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=fr_FR.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages gnome-orca depends on: ii gir1.2-gtk-3.0 3.4.2-2 ii gir1.2-pango-1.0 1.30.0-1 ii gir1.2-wnck-3.03.4.2-1 ii python 2.7.3-2 ii python-brlapi 4.4-4 ii python-cairo 1.8.8-1+b2 ii python-dbus1.1.1-1 ii python-gi 3.2.2-1 ii python-louis 2.4.1-1 ii python-pyatspi22.5.3+dfsg-1 ii python-speechd 0.7.1-6.1 ii python-support 1.0.15 ii python-xdg 0.19-4 ii speech-dispatcher 0.7.1-6.1 Versions of packages gnome-orca recommends: ii gnome-mag 1:0.16.3-1 ii wget 1.13.4-3 ii xbrlapi4.4-4 gnome-orca suggests no packages. -- no debconf information ---End Message--- ---BeginMessage--- Source: gnome-orca Source-Version: 3.10.2-1 We believe that the bug you reported is fixed in the latest version of gnome-orca, which is due to be installed in the Debian FTP archive. Re: Debian sid, orca, and login screen
Hello Germano, Germano Carella schrieb am 22.02.2014, 23:13 +0100: Now, I can't start orca at login screen. I tried to do this: su -s /bin/sh -c 'eval $(dbus-launch) ; export DBUS_SESSION_BUS_ADDRESS DBUS_SESSION_BUS_PID ; GSETTINGS_BACKEND=dconf gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.a11y.applications screen-reader-enabled true' Debian-gdm || true Well, the command on http://wiki.debian.org/accessibility is much shorter, but it looks like it should do the same. Dgm3 was unable to login, so, I installed lightdm. Currently only GDM3 has accessibility features. All other login managers don't. Bug#735202: speakup crashes debian
On 22-02-14 00:55, Jude DaShiell wrote: Not entirely sure, what's my best bet for installing a readline package that is likely to work? As long as I don't know what exactly it is supposed to be doing, I don't know. Seems like readline is provided as library by libreadline6, but maybe in your case you need libreadline5? Hard to tell really, as long as we are not down to the real problem. On my system, both are installed. Paul signature.asc Description: OpenPGP digital signature
Bug#735202: speakup is a kernel module
reassign 735202 linux retitle 735202 speakup freezes system when trying to paste thanks I made the mistake of assigning this bug reported on the debian-accessibility mail list to the speakup package while speakup is now a kernel package. Reassigning now. Especially message 39 seems to have reproduction case https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=735202#39 I haven't figured out yet if I can reproduce using software synthesizers It seems like I have a lot of reading up to do. problem with speech in latest debian installer dailies
I tried to install debian testing today using the installer images. I grabbed the latest amd64 image and got no speech after I started the installation with s and then enter from the boot menu.. I asked someone sighted what was going on and they said that there was a bar going back and forth at the bottom of the screen like something was loading. I left this go for a minute or so and nothing happened. According to them, the gui installer worked just fine when I selected that from the menu. I also tried a weekly image and got no speech. Can anyone else reproduce this? -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-accessibility-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble?
