There is already a jodconverter package, we can upgrade it to version 3.

Just a small update:

I packaged the 3.0 version of jodconverter, taken from [0]. This is
currently only availabe locally, i will try to check if everything works
as expected before i push it into the repo.

I am now also able to build natbraille-2.2rc1 against the new
jodconverter package. Natbraille seems to work, as far as i can see. (My
french is not very good, btw.)

There are another, probably newer versions on github, eg [1] which seems
to be more active concerning development, OTOH it features a different
package base name and also misses some classes. So i think it is ok to
use this version, because it it currently only used by natbraille.

I also contacted Vivien for the source of natbraille-soffice-1.0-.. jar
file, and we are getting closer.

Another issue is the saxon9* stuff from the /lib dir vs the saxonb libs
packages for debian - i found the patches in natbraille 2.0rc3 and will
incorporate them.

Not that I know of.

If someone explain me how to maintain a package (or give me the link to 
learn how to do it), I may work on it.
As Natbraille's project leader I may change some lines of code to 
guarantee the compliance with debian policy.

I transfert it to the natbraille's dev team.


The Natbraille's version in the repositories is an old one, and should 
be updated but nobody is working on it.


We 'll try to do our best to publish an updated version of the 
softwares, if someone could help we 'll appreciate!



Samuel released the 2.0rc3-4 verison, but there is maybe a problem for 
the next ones?

Dependance with natbraille

Dear all (especially Samuel ;)),

Thanks for adding natbraille in testing.
I found a dependance problem: natbraille needs libjoptsimple-java to 
work correctly.
Icons are not working with the gui. We should change the code to get 
standards icons but I have no idea on how to do that.


Another point: what can we do to ease the packaging process?

NAT 2.0rc has been released last tuesday and is available at

Samuel is working to package it in debian, and we really thank him!

Features already implemented in version 1.5  :
- - Supported input formats : OpenDocument (Openoffice) and text
- - Translated Brailles : French Grade 1 and French Mathematics
- - Mathematical bi-dimensional structures (arrays, tables, matrix)
- - Smart mathematical hyphenation
- - Transcription fine tuning: page size, Braille printing, Braille

New in 2.0 :
1) Stable features
1.1 New supported input formats : proprietary ones (word, rtf...) if
OpenOffice is installed on the system;
1.2 Page layout fully implemented (page numbering, lists, titles,
spacing...)
1.3 Word hyphenation for Grade 1 and customisation interface
1.4 New configurations managing system (with non-editable system
configurations and editable user ones)
1.5 Graphic user interface fully accessible
1.6 Page sequence printing available
1.7 Huge documents (such as books) can now be transcribed

2) New features that need to be fully tested
2.1 Configuration for DBT (like BraMaNet); DBT 10.7 configuration
included if DBT 10.7 is on the system.
2.2 Literary tables: linear mode transcription
2.3 Transcription of Word documents with converted Mathtype equations:
text conversion not necessary anymore. This means the original page
layout information is now preserved.

3) Reverse transcription, poorly tested:
It only works with mathematical and integral brailles.
To test it: use the reverse transcription editor (ctrl+n or main
window menu) or add a .tan extension to a Braille text file. French

Hi all (and especially Mario),

Looking at some project on the net we found freedots, and I was happy to 
see that Mario is taking part in this project.


A few weeks ago I wrote a mail about Nat braille

We already began implementing xslt transformations to produce braille 
from musicXml.
I wonder if we could share our work, or working together in braille
