Just make a minimum install into the swap partition. mkreiserfs, copy the 
files, install the new kernel, reboot with the new root partition, mkswap, 
swapon, ready.

Yes, but I can´´t find this floppies for alpha
platform. Where I can find ??
Ahh .. did a bit of searching and they don't exist ... IIRC it had 
something to do with kernel not fitting on one floppy.

Is there a particular reason you need to have a 2.4 kernel for 
installing?  You can always install a new kernel (a cinch to do) after 
Debian is installed.
