Re: ACPI error AE_NOT_FOUND
Hi Tierry, I have the same laptop and just managed to get the battery status to work. You can follow the instruction here (http://acpi.sourceforge.net/dsdt/view.php?id=417) to compile it. And my dsdt hex file after compile with iasl (http://acpi.sourceforge.net/dsdt/view.php?id=533). I managed to compile it with the kernel version 2.6.15-rc6 from source. If you want I can send you the custom kernel debian package if you want. Hope this helps you. By the way I am using Sarge amd64. --- Thierry <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrot: > First I am please to say that both stable and > testing Debian installed > nicely on my Acer Aspire 5002 laptop. 64/32 with DRI
Hi, I'm running linux-image-2.6.14-2-amd64-k8-smp on 32-bit 'sid' (haven't made the time to go all-64 yet). I have an old Radeon 7000 and I'm using the standard "radeon" driver. While DRI appears to initialize correctly in the Xorg.log.0, glxinfo reports that direct rendering is off and opening any GL app causes the machine to halt. Any ideas? Re: emacs on amd64?
Wow, Colin, I knew there was an ecosystem surrounding emacs, but I am surprised at the sheer wealth of emacs-related apps ;-) Thanks for the additional info. Don Yeah, some of the package names aren't very obvious - in these cases, doing an apt-cache search [app name] should show you which one you need to install. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe". Not something I can help you with, sorry. I don't have an amd64 machine, so this should be handled by the build daemon(s). Re: DualCore Dual-Opteron Board - suggestion?
Hi I do have the same network card as you have. I had to download the bcm5700-source debian package and compile it with module-assistant. There was some version before the current one in unstable, 8.1.55-2 that did not work. I am using kernel version 2.6.12.
