openoffice 2.0.4, rc3

2006-10-04 Thread Gudjon I. Gudjonsson
Hi
The newest version of openoffice more or less works. I have a doc file
(unfortunately confidential) that I have always tried to open and openoffice
for amd64 has always crashed on. Now I could open it. Two figure, a little
bit of text and an excel table is missing but the rest is there. If the file
is opened in the 32 bit version and saved as a odt file everything works
perfectly.
I claim that it is more or less usable now so please try it out.

Regards
Gudjon

End of development machine ravel.hpc2n.umu.se

2006-10-04 Thread Mattias Wadenstein

Greetings,

These days when amd64 machines are common, we'd like to use the machine
ravel for other things (frontend for ftp.acc.umu.se in particular).

Last login seems to have been in may, so I guess there is not that big
demand on it either. I hope it has been useful for those using it (I know
I did, back when it was the first amd64 host I had access to), and wish it
luck in it's new life as httpd host.

If someone has big objections to this (or need the data that was on it),
we will have the old drive preserved so we can bring it back.

/Mattias Wadenstein
