At least documentation claims that USB-keyboard should work in BIOS/bootloader, but it doesn't. ... jonas -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? I think also that it is a problem of xorg. My Keyboard leds are working at tty1 but in X. An other problem (perhaps relatet) is that I only can use an american keyboard layout. No idea why. Hey Dimitris, I was able to choose between all usb devices, no mice and none at USB legacy mode in BIOS. But unfortunately neither all usb devices nor no mice work for me. My USB-keyboard still doesn't work in BIOS and bootloader. At least the second one is quite annoying, as I'm not able to choose the kernel to boot any longer. I hope you have a non-USB keyboard lying around to do this, otherwise you'll have a tough time :) No problem about that, but i don't want to keep the PS/2 keyboard forever. Sorry for my last post. I will try to correct it. I think also that it is a problem of xorg. My Keyboard leds are working at tty1 not but under X. An other problem (perhaps relatet) is that I only can use an american keyboard layout (under X). At tty1 I do have german layout (an configure). No idea why. Hey Wolfgang, you need to configure the keyboard layout in /etc/X11/xorg.conf. Search for XkbLayout and XkbVariant and change the values to Option XkbLayout de Option XkbVariantnodeadkeys after that you need to restart your xserver, and should be able to use your german keymap in X afterwards. greetings, jonas -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. In xorg.conf the keyboard layout was configured correctly but the evdev driver seems to corrupt this configuration. I removed the evdev package and now I have got my layout back. status of native java JRE ?
Hey, What's the status for native-amd64 java support for mozilla browsers in debian unstable today ? AFAIKS there's sun java5/6 jre and gij 4.2 but they have no browser plugin. Then there is balckdown j2re 1.4 plugin but that's old and doesn't work. At least, judged by http://www.java.com/en/download/help/testvm.xml It dies with: java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError: testvmDynamicJavaCom (Unsupported major.minor version 49.0) at java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClass0(Native Method) at java.lang.ClassLoader.defineClass(ClassLoader.java:539) at java.security.SecureClassLoader.defineClass(SecureClassLoader.java:123) at sun.applet.AppletClassLoader.findClass(AppletClassLoader.java:157) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:289) at sun.applet.AppletClassLoader.loadClass(AppletClassLoader.java:123) at java.lang.ClassLoader.loadClass(ClassLoader.java:235) at sun.applet.AppletClassLoader.loadCode(AppletClassLoader.java:561) at sun.applet.AppletPanel.createApplet(AppletPanel.java:619) at sun.plugin.AppletViewer.createApplet(AppletViewer.java:1880) at sun.applet.AppletPanel.runLoader(AppletPanel.java:548) at sun.applet.AppletPanel.run(AppletPanel.java:299) at java.lang.Thread.run(Thread.java:534) The sun desktop demo works fine so far - is there really no way to get sun java6 into iceweasel ? Re: status of native java JRE ?
I found the GCJ Web Browser Plugin 0.95 (package gcjwebplugin) It pops up with: GNU Classpath's security implementation is not complete. HOSTILE APPLETS WILL STEAL AND/OR DESTROY YOUR DATA! and afterwards doesn't work either. Probably i would be satisfied with only some rudimentary browser java support. Does anybody have a link where i can test blackdown vs gij plugin ? m°

Re: java plugin lenny
Oh i see i still had an old blackdown key in the keyring. Now after i deleted the entry, apt warns for the missing key. Had i no backup then i'd ask next, where3 can i get the key ? I searched this server but no luck. So what's the proposed approach to find any key, anyway ? m°

As example answer to my last question, here is a nice little java thingy that works with blackdown j2re: http://www.freenet.ag/investor-relations/aktie.html (mark a chart sect = zoom) This one does not work: http://www.touchgraph.com/TGGoogleBrowser.php?start=www.debian.org (should popup a relationship graphic) -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe.
