amd64 buildd hosts

2008-07-21 Thread Walter Franzini
[I hope it's ok to post in this list about the amd64 related buildd
hosts. If not, please let me know where I can ask for help.]

Hi all,

I'm trying to fix the problems the aegis package has being built on
the nautilus buildd host.

The previous release of the package was successful, but it was build
on excelsior. (http://buildd.debian.org/build.cgi?pkg=aegis)

The problem is not related to compilation, but to the test suite. It
seems to me that the package is build by an user that belong to the
undefined group 1000 and this make aegis fails numerous tests.

Can someone give me some help? Thanks.

problem using 4.2.1-sjlj MingW cross compiler on Debian AMD64:functions not declared

2008-07-21 Thread Joost Kraaijeveld
Hi,

I have a problem with a 4.2.1-sjlj Ming cross compiler on Debian (both
with my own compiled and the Debian version)

Compiling any C++ source using a C++ compiler header included (e.g.
cstdlib) result in the following kind of errors:

/home/jkr/mingw_cross_env-1.4/usr/lib/gcc/i386-mingw32msvc/4.2.1-sjlj/include/c++/cstdlib:164:
 error: '::lldiv_t' has not been declared
/home/jkr/mingw_cross_env-1.4/usr/lib/gcc/i386-mingw32msvc/4.2.1-sjlj/include/c++/cstdlib:170:
 error: '::_Exit' has not been declared
/home/jkr/mingw_cross_env-1.4/usr/lib/gcc/i386-mingw32msvc/4.2.1-sjlj/include/c++/cstdlib:177:
 error: '::llabs' has not been declared
/home/jkr/mingw_cross_env-1.4/usr/lib/gcc/i386-mingw32msvc/4.2.1-sjlj/include/c++/cstdlib:179:
 error: 'lldiv_t' does not name a type
/home/jkr/mingw_cross_env-1.4/usr/lib/gcc/i386-mingw32msvc/4.2.1-sjlj/include/c++/cstdlib:183:
 error: '::lldiv' has not been declared
/home/jkr/mingw_cross_env-1.4/usr/lib/gcc/i386-mingw32msvc/4.2.1-sjlj/include/c++/cstdlib:198:
 error: '::strtof' has not been declared

Using stdlib.h with the same source compiles OK.

I have the impression that it has something to do with C99 support
(because alle errors are within some GCC macros about C99) but I don't
have any idea how to solve it. Is there anyone with any idea where to
look or what to try (e.g. maybe I should use some configure options for
either the build of the compiler or the build of my own executable)?

TIA

Aegis doesn't like unknown users or unknown groups.

That has probably happened is the user build bot is logged in as has the
default group from the fourth column of the /etc/passwd file as 1000,
but that group does not appear in the /etc/group file. A second, less
likely, possibility is a file with its group set to a number which does
not appear in the /etc/group file.

This was once a bigger issue that it is not, because Aegis once stored
the _string_ of the GID in the meta-data.

We could add a simple program to the start of each test file which
checks for thinks Aegis really can't cope with -- like unlisted GIDs,
UIDs 100, etc -- and have the tests fail more gracefully in broken
environments. In the test_prelude, actually, which would be good reason
to update all of the test scripts to use it.

SATA CDROM/DVD fails to mount CDROM on machine with 4G of memory

RE:http://lists.debian.org/debian-amd64/2008/04/msg00339.html

It isn't fixed in 2.6.25-2-amd64

I don't seem to be getting this into the right hands.. Can someone get me the email of the Debian
maintainer of sata_nv? I'm not sure how else to report problems with modules - I would be glad to
help test it.

Wonder what I need to back out of lenny to get it to work again?

This was a known sata_nv problem with ATAPI devices and more than 4GB of
RAM. It should be fixed in 2.6.25.

I haven't seen any reports since 2.6.25. Are there updated details
(dmesg output, etc) posted anywhere?
