Re: Re: fast clock wreaks havoc on amd64 dual core - hp1250n

So, let me jump in line here as another interested party -- I've got the
fast clock
problem on an HP zv6130us laptop (Athlon 3200+) running Debian sarge AMD64.

I've seen the bugzilla.kernel.org report on this (bug#3927), and I'd love to
know
when and how a fix for this might make it into the Debian release stream.
Anyone?

Thanks,

Yes! That did the trick...at least now I can get into the installer in
character mode.

Thanks!

Try disabling the framebuffer. There is info on how in the help screens
of the boot menu. If that doesn't work try the forced method that I had
to use with woody on many thinkpads which was add video=vga16:off to the
boot command.

Title: amd64 on HP zv6130us notebook

Does anyone have any experience with installing debian-31r0a-amd64-netinst.iso on an HP zv6130us notebook?

I just bought one, and on booting from the Debian netinst CD, I get the splash screen, hit to boot, and the usual boot messages scroll by for about 1-2 seconds, then suddenly the screen goes completely black and the machine hangs until forcibly rebooted (power button).  Unfortunately, I can't see what the last message logged is, as it's on screen for only a brief moment.

In the absence of info on this configuration, if anyone could recommend how to see the console messages which are being cleared away, I'd at least have a way to proceed with debugging this.

Thanks,
