Kino problem - doesn't read files
I am running an AMD64 dual-core machine, on an Asus A8N-SLI Deluxe motherboard.I'm running Debian-64, Sarge (I think). My sources.list file is attached. I'm trying to use Kino to edit some video files for burning to DVD. When I try to load an AVI file, I get the error Failed to load media. When I try to load an MPG file, I get the error Invalid file specified. The version of Kino is 0.7.5. Since I'm running 64-bit Linux, I don't know if the problem is my own ignorance, or a compatibility issue, or both. Can anyone offer some pointers? Thanks much, Russ # Line commented out by installer because it failed to verify: #deb http://security.debian.org/ testing/updates main #deb-src http://security.debian.org/ testing/updates main deb http://mirror.espri.arizona.edu/debian-amd64/debian/ testing main deb http://mirror.espri.arizona.edu/debian-amd64/debian/ testing contrib deb http://mirror.espri.arizona.edu/debian-amd64/debian/ testing non-free deb http://spello.sscnet.ucla.edu/marillat/ sarge main deb http://spello.sscnet.ucla.edu/marillat/ sid main deb-src http://mirror.espri.arizona.edu/debian-amd64/debian/ testing main deb-src http://mirror.espri.arizona.edu/debian-amd64/debian/ testing contrib deb-src http://mirror.espri.arizona.edu/debian-amd64/debian/ testing non-free

BTW, you can combine the individual lines that contain main, contrib and non-free into a single line ending in main contrib non-free. I'm not sure about your video editing problem. -Roberto -- Roberto C. Sanchez http://familiasanchez.net/~roberto -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Kino
hi, first a little question should i report bug in sid amd64 on this list or in debian bts ? i'm not sure I can report to debian bts because amd64 is not an official port... Now my bug, I am using kino on 32 bit sid and it work very well but in 64 bit playback is lagguy and blocky, it's totaly unuseable. I don't know if it's a problem with libdv or kino itself. bye -- Philippe [EMAIL PROTECTED] -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Re: Kino
Hello Philippe, you can use reportbug to report bugs in the official bug tracking system. Best regards, Marko -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Contact [EMAIL PROTECTED]

I've also noticed that when encoding it fails to use sse and so is much slower than 32bit. Ed Tomlinson -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble?
