Your best bet is wine with Microsoft's SDK. Good luck on installing it
though. You can probably install it on your windows box and copy the
compiler to your linux box w/ all deps ...

For quite a while WinXP 64-bit Edition had been offered for free at
https://microsoft.order-9.com/winxp64/
That's the beta. It's no longer available as the OS has gone gold.

It looks like WinXP 64bit just went gold the other day. The final build
is available on Microsoft's MSDN page for subscribers.

Presumably the microsoft compiler supports win64. I've no idea if the publicly
released versions support it or not.

64-bit windows still hasn't been released yet, so you're aiming at a moving
target anyway.

If no, what's the way to compile 64-bit windows binaries?

You can't, not without using proprietary toolchains.
What's the name of these toolchains?

My point is that no other debian architecture can compile win64 applications,
so there's no reason that amd64 should be able to either.

You can't, not without using proprietary toolchains.

This isn't an amd64 specific question. When you're cross compiling it doesn't
make any difference what machine you're compiling from.
This question is about a way to compile binaries for win64 under
debian-amd64.
Does mingw64 even exist? google says it there's no such thing.

This isn't an amd64 specific question. When you're cross compiling it doesn't

Does mingw64 even exist? google says it there's no such thing.
