Sun Jre 1.5
Hey everybody, I've been trying to install the latest Java. I downloaded the two packages from debian.org but i cant install either because one needs the other installed first and the same for the other. Are there any ways to get around this? Thanks.

Install them simultaneously with dpkg --install pkg1.deb pkg2.deb, or just use aptitude. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? Have you tried to install at the same time like this: dpkg -i firstone.deb secondone.deb ? /Magnus -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of unsubscribe. Trouble? The web pages talk about getting java from the blackdown site and other places I looked in Synaptic and I see various java deb files including one billed as a browser plugin. java-common java-gcj-compat java-gcj-compat-plugin etc... Would these packaged make applets work in Iceweasel?? Or do I need to install other Sun or IBM stuff? Also there is not 64 bit browser plugin from Sun, there is a gcj plugin and a 64 bit blackdown plugin but it is 1.4.2 and the gcj and somewhere around 1.4 if you really need lots of java in your browser, then it might be best to get a 32 bit browser ??
