Rewrite URL-Umwandlung
nach einem Wechsel von Suse auf Debian steht folgendes Problem an: Im Website-Verzeichnis ist eine .htaccess abgelegt, die eine php-URL in eine HTML-URl umwandeln soll. Bei SuSe ging das reibungslos. Unter Debian kommt die Meldung: --- Forbidden You don't have permission to access /... on this server. Apache/1.3.26 Server at ... Port 80 --- Der Inhalt der .htaccess ist: --- RewriteEngine On RewriteRule ^index_(.*)_(.*)_(.*)_(.*)_(.*)_(.*)_(.*)_(.*)_(.*)\.html$ index.php?ueb=$1ueb2=$2ueb3=$3ueb4=$4ueb5=$5ueb6=$6ueb7=$7ueb8=$8ueb 9=$9 --- Wie funktioniert die URL-Umwandlung in Debian? Was muss bei der Konfiguration beachtet werden? Muss die .htaccess abgeändert werden? Viele Grüße Sven

It does not provide any debconf defaults, which means that if a user just hits enter on any of the questions, he will end up with a broken apache.conf which will cause apache to fail to start, and dpkg to abort with the package unconfigured. Furthermore, the package cannot be reconfigured properly after this: running dpkg --configure --pending will skip over some questions, with the result that apache.conf is STILL broken afterwards, and dpkg aborts again. Also, the default apache.conf shipped with the package depends on some apache modules which the user is not informed about, so if the user fails to select those modules in debconf, apache.conf will contain directives that apache can't understand ('cos the module is not loaded). So dpkg will abort because apache won't start, and you can't reconfigure it unless you purge the package and re-install or fix apache.conf by hand. This is very broken behaviour. Please fix the debconf templates so that apache comes with sane defaults that the user can tweak later if he wishes, AFTER the package is installed and configured by dpkg, so that he doesn't get stuck in a state where apache must be purged and re-installed in order to get anywhere useful. However, using the option, for example: IndexOptions FancyIndexing NameWidth=* IgnoreCase gives an error like the following on apache restart: Syntax error on line 563 of /etc/apache/httpd.conf: IgnoreCase After running 'strings' against mod_autoindex.so, then subsequently examining the apache .orig.tar.gz, showed that the standard mod_autoindex is not being used. My questions: - Why are contributed, undocumented modules being used instead of the standard ones? - Could the standard mod_autoindex be included instead? - How can I list files case-insensitively with the current Debian apache? My previously working config caused it to die during configuration. I had an old libperl.so lying around in there (I'm still not sure why - I don't have mod_perl installed now). It didn't have a .info file so modules-config barfed. I don't think modules-config should just barf on such things. I'm not sure if you're allowed to prompt during configuration I believe it's frowned upon but as you're going to barf anyway perhaps it would be permissible to prompt the user to override its choices. Otherwise perhaps it could limit itself to complaining about currently active modules or just discard modules from its own calculations which don't have an info file (and warn presumably). Either of these would have given me a nicer upgrade path. -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable Architecture: i386 Kernel: Linux bounce.x 2.4.23 #1 Sat Dec 20 19:56:53 GMT 2003 i686 Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.ISO8859-1 Versions of packages apache depends on: ii apache-common 1.3.29.0.1-3 Support files for all Apache webse ii debconf 1.3.22 Debian configuration management sy ii dpkg1.10.18 Package maintenance system for Deb ii libc6 2.3.2.ds1-10 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an ii libdb4.14.1.25-10Berkeley v4.1 Database Libraries [ ii libexpat1 1.95.6-6 XML parsing C library - runtime li ii libmagic1 4.06-2 File type determination library us ii libpam0g0.76-14.1Pluggable Authentication Modules l ii logrotate 3.6.5-2 Log rotation utility ii mime-support3.23-1 MIME files 'mime.types' 'mailcap ii perl [perl5]5.8.2-2 Larry Wall's Practical Extraction -- debconf information excluded --- Received: (at 226833-close) by bugs.debian.org; 7 Mar 2004 13:38:12 + From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Sun Mar 07 05:38:12 2004 Return-path: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Received: from newraff.debian.org [208.185.25.31] (mail) by spohr.debian.org with esmtp (Exim 3.35 1 (Debian)) id 1AzyTs-0001wx-00; Sun, 07 Mar 2004 05:38:12 -0800 Received: from katie by newraff.debian.org with local (Exim 3.35 1 (Debian)) id 1AzyNy-0001rB-00; Sun, 07 Mar 2004 08:32:06 -0500 From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] (Fabio M. The apache-ssl binary was last modified on Dec 17, but strangely the problem just appeared. The symptom is that apache-ssl runs but it doesn't seem to load its configuration files from the standard place (/etc/apache-ssl/httpd.conf). A look at the binary shows the string /usr/htdocs to be present, so on a hunch I set up a symbolic link to there from my real document root and that got my website partially going again, but SSL and several virtual hosts are all broken. I tried saving my config directory, reinstalling apache-ssl and restoring the config directory without any success. What has recently changed?? Perhaps my setup is a bit exotic, so I will explain the situation: I have several Apache servers that have mostly identical configurations. To reduce redundancy, we placed the configuration files on an NFS share. The local directory /etc/apache/ now contains a local.conf that contains any configuration directives that should remain local and a symlink from /etc/shared/apache/httpd.conf to /etc/apache/httpd.conf. The shared configuration file includes the local.conf file and all is well. That is, all is well until the apache postinst scripts get called. Through some magic, the symlink in /etc/apache gets removed and replaced by a new httpd.conf plaintext file that contains the exact content as my /etc/shared/apache/httpd.conf. Needless to say: this is bad news for me. Changes made in the central httpd.conf are no longer propagated to all servers. One example of code, possibly responsible for removing the symbolic link, is from postinst.common: if [ ! `grep ^PidFile /var/run/$pkg.pid /etc/$pkg/httpd.conf` ] ; then cat /etc/$pkg/httpd.conf | perl -pe \ s,^PidFile.*,PidFile /var/run/$pkg.pid,; /etc/$pkg/httpd.conf.dpkg-inst.$$ mv /etc/$pkg/httpd.conf.dpkg-inst.$$ /etc/$pkg/httpd.conf fi This raises two questions: a) Should the apache postinst scripts overwrite a configuration file with a new file with identical content? b) Should the apache postinst scripts remove a symlink and replace it with a plaintext file? I think that according to section 10.7.3 of the Debian Policy Manual, a) could be argued for but b) can not. I'm looking forward to hearing your thoughts about this. Bug#235810: external pcre patch
This patch fixes problems seen by apache modules attempting to run regex stuff, and getting apache's internal pcre implementation. It contains two parts; the first (the autoconf stuff) checks if libpcre is installed on the host system. If it is, that pcre is used to build apache2. If it's not, apache2 compiles its own pcre, and statically links against it. The second part of this patch forces pcre to be used. Apache, by default, calls the posix regex functions (reg{exec,comp,free,error}) internally. If glibc was sane, this would be fine. Unfortunately, it's not. So, when apache calls these regex functions, it's anyones guess as to whether it will use glibc's regex functions, or the pcre regex functions. The glibc regex functions segfault (within glibc) on my system. So, to ensure sanity, we force use of pcre regex functions. I need to do a bit more testing w/ apache's internal pcre, but for debian's purposes (pcre in /usr), it works fine. diff -x {arch} -x .arch-ids -urN orig/apache2/Makefile.in mod/apache2/Makefile.in --- orig/apache2/Makefile.in 2004-03-07 03:18:24.0 -0500 +++ mod/apache2/Makefile.in 2004-03-07 01:18:10.0 -0500 @@ -178,7 +178,9 @@ @cp -p $(srcdir)/modules/http/mod_core.h $(DESTDIR)$(includedir) @cp -p $(srcdir)/modules/proxy/mod_proxy.h $(DESTDIR)$(includedir) @cp -p $(srcdir)/modules/ssl/*.h $(DESTDIR)$(includedir) - @cp -p $(srcdir)/srclib/pcre/pcre*.h $(DESTDIR)$(includedir) + @if test $(AP_EXTERN_PCRE) != 0; then \ + cp -p $(srcdir)/srclib/pcre/pcre*.h $(DESTDIR)$(includedir); \ + fi; @cp -p $(srcdir)/os/$(OS_DIR)/*.h $(DESTDIR)$(includedir) @chmod 644 $(DESTDIR)$(includedir)/*.h diff -x {arch} -x .arch-ids -urN orig/apache2/acinclude.m4 mod/apache2/acinclude.m4 --- orig/apache2/acinclude.m4 2004-03-07 03:18:24.0 -0500 +++ mod/apache2/acinclude.m4 2004-03-07 01:18:09.0 -0500 @@ -494,6 +494,58 @@ ]) dnl +dnl APACHE_CHECK_PCRE +dnl Apache includes it's own version of PCRE; however, if PCRE exists +dnl on the build system, we link against that instead of building +dnl Apache's own PCRE. +dnl +AC_DEFUN(APACHE_CHECK_PCRE, [ + AC_MSG_CHECKING(for external PCRE library) + ap_pcre_base= + ap_test_pcre=1 + AP_EXTERN_PCRE=0 + + AC_ARG_WITH([pcre], AS_HELP_STRING([--with-external-pcre], + [use external libpcre (versus apache-supplied pcre)]), [ +if test x$withval = xno; then + ap_test_pcre=0; +elif test x$withval != xyes -a x$withval != x; then + ap_pcre_base=$withval +fi + ]) + + if test $ap_test_pcre != 0; then +ap_pcre_conf=pcre-config +if test -f $ap_pcre_base; then + ap_pcre_conf=$ap_pcre_base; +elif test -f $ap_pcre_base/pcre-config; then + ap_pcre_conf=$ap_pcre_base/pcre-config; +elif test -f $ap_pcre_base/bin/pcre-config; then + ap_pcre_conf=$ap_pcre_base/bin/pcre-config; +fi + +ap_save_CFLAGS=$CFLAGS +ap_save_LIBS=$LIBS +CFLAGS=$CFLAGS `$ap_pcre_conf --cflags 2/dev/null` +LIBS=$LIBS `$ap_pcre_conf --libs 2/dev/null` +AC_COMPILE_IFELSE([AC_LANG_PROGRAM([[#include pcre.h]], +[[char *foo = pcre_version();]])], [ + AP_EXTERN_PCRE=1 +], [ + CFLAGS=$ap_save_CFLAGS + LIBS=$ap_save_LIBS +]) + fi + + if test $AP_EXTERN_PCRE = 1; then +AC_MSG_RESULT(yes) + else +AC_MSG_RESULT(no) + fi + AC_SUBST(AP_EXTERN_PCRE) +]) + +dnl dnl APACHE_EXPORT_ARGUMENTS dnl Export (via APACHE_SUBST) the various path-related variables that dnl apache will use while generating scripts like autoconf and apxs and diff -x {arch} -x .arch-ids -urN orig/apache2/configure.in mod/apache2/configure.in --- orig/apache2/configure.in 2004-03-07 03:18:27.0 -0500 +++ mod/apache2/configure.in 2004-03-07 01:18:08.0 -0500 @@ -114,10 +114,14 @@ AC_PROG_CC AC_PROG_CPP -echo $ac_n ${nl}Configuring PCRE regular expression library ...${nl} - -APR_SUBDIR_CONFIG(srclib/pcre, - [--prefix=$prefix --exec-prefix=$exec_prefix --libdir=$libdir --includedir=$includedir --bindir=$bindir]) +APACHE_CHECK_PCRE +if test $AP_EXTERN_PCRE = 0; then + echo $ac_n ${nl}Configuring PCRE regular expression library ...${nl} + APR_SUBDIR_CONFIG(srclib/pcre, + [--prefix=$prefix --exec-prefix=$exec_prefix --libdir=$libdir --includedir=$includedir --bindir=$bindir]) + AP_BUILD_SRCLIB_DIRS=$AP_BUILD_SRCLIB_DIRS pcre + AP_CLEAN_SRCLIB_DIRS=pcre $AP_CLEAN_SRCLIB_DIRS +fi echo $ac_n ${nl}Configuring Apache httpd ...${nl} @@ -466,9 +470,6 @@ APACHE_HELP_STRING(--with-suexec-umask,umask for suexec'd process),[ AC_DEFINE_UNQUOTED(AP_SUEXEC_UMASK, 0$withval, [umask for suexec'd process] ) ] ) -dnl AP_LIBS specifies the actual libraries. note we have some required libs. -AP_LIBS=$abs_builddir/srclib/pcre/libpcre.la $AP_LIBS - dnl APR should go after the other libs, so the right symbols can be picked up AP_LIBS=$AP_LIBS `$apu_config --link-libtool --libs` `$apr_config --link-libtool --libs` APACHE_SUBST(AP_LIBS) diff
Bug: debian/config_vars.mk installed staticly in all mpm packages
There is a bug in the build process for apache2 where by the static debian/config_vars.mk is used in all mpm packages. This is incorrect as the config_vars.mk is used by apxs2 and must contain changes for the specific mpm build target. For example, in apache2-prefork-dev, the installed config_vars.mk should contain MPM_NAME=prefork, but because the static config_vars.mk is used, it contains MPM_NAME=worker, which is incorrect. This breaks packages which use apxs2 to correctly generate configs and Makefiles, such as php4. The offending line is 152 in debian/rules where the static config_vars.mk is installed. Either that line should be removed as the preceeding one correctly copys the current mpm target's build directory into the package or it should probably be patched rather then using a static version.
